La big band più prestigiosa della Norvegia, connubio perfetto tra il jazz tradizionale e le sonorità del ventunesimo secolo, sbarca finalmente in Italia con il patrocinio della Reale Ambasciata di Norvegia, dopo il clamoroso successo della tournée che ha toccato alcuni dei maggiori festival jazz europei (Oslo, Bonn, Londra). Guidato dal trombonista e compositore Helge Sunde, l’Ensemble Denada proporrà per la prima volta in Italia la sua “Italian Suite”, brano in tre movimenti dedicati ad altrettante città del bel paese (Roma, Trieste, Alghero) ed eseguirà in anteprima i brani del nuovo disco “Sendesaal”, in uscita il prossimo anno per l’etichetta ACT di Siegfried Loch. Anticipata dalla fama di un disco eccellente come “Finding Nymo”, uscito nel 2009 sempre per la ACT di Monaco, l’orchestra torna a esibirsi nella penisola dopo più di sette anni con un nuovo repertorio e un organico ancora più ampio, che racchiude alcuni dei maggiori solisti norvegesi, tra cui i fratelli sassofonisti Frode e Atle Nymo. Sedici elementi che mischiano il jazz alla musica popolare, dando vita a un impasto sonoro frutto dell’incontro di fiati, percussioni ed elettronica, strutture compositive tradizionali e improvvisazione radicali. I maggiori media europei, come il Guardian e lo Spiegel, hanno parlato di questo ensemble come di uno dei più interessanti apparsi di recente sulla scena europea.
The most prestigious big band in Norway, a perfect union between traditional jazz and sounds of the twenty first century, finally lands in Italy with the patronage of the Royal Embassy of Norway, after the resounding success of its most recent tour in some of the biggest European jazz festivals (Oslo, Bonn, London). Lead by trombonist and composer Helge Sunde, the Ensemble Denada will offer for the first time in Italy its "Italian Suite", piece in three movements dedicated to three cities of the country (Rome, Trieste, Alghero) and previews to the new album "Sendesaal", to be released next year on the label ACT of Siegfried Loch. Anticipated by the fame of the excellent album "Finding Nymo", released in 2009 always on ACT, the orchestra will return to the peninsula after seven years with a new repertoire and a broader organic, which includes some of the most important Norwegian soloists, amongst the brothers Frode and Atle Nymo. Sixteen elements which mix jazz to popular music, giving life to a sound mixture of winds, percussion and electronics, traditional composition structures and radical improvisations. The most important European media, like The Guardian and Spiegel, have written about this ensemble and how they think it is one of the most interesting bands in the European scene.
