Neo Disco Punk returns to 2013 with a series of exclusive parties in the heart of London's east end.
Musically, NDP is about great electronic music with a hi-five to the old school rave and acid house with a modern twist on house music. As our name states ‘Neo” - bringing the old into the new.
Our first guest internationally recognised for his entrancing dance music productions and playing exclusively for NDP is none other than Cole Medina.
Cole’s productions are heard on dance floors all over the globe in the most respected clubs and online broadcasts. His music is a supported by noted underground DJs such as DJ Harvey, Prins Thomas, Todd Terje, Mark E, Juan Maclean, RubNTug, Alex From Tokyo, Foolish Felix, Ooft and Rob Mellow, to name a few.
As owner and co-founder of House Arrest, Cole helms a unique label offering past and present releases that are heavy in demand. It comes as no surprise that Cole receives strong support from his peers with releases that always do well.
Born and raised in Downey, California, Cole played instruments and wrote music throughout his childhood. A background in jazz won him competitions, awards and scholarships. In high school he was presented with the Bronze Viking Award, the school district's highest award of achievement in art.
Working on his craft non-stop and forming relationships abroad, all the while remaining humble and open-minded. Cole Medina is guaranteed a successful future as he branches out to work with veteran producers on his new label Gimme The Loot as well as distinguished labels around the world.
This is Cole Medina’s very first London show, and we are pleased to have secured his debut. Joining Cole will be our NDP residents Paul Barkworth (Disco Dirtbox), Kid Circus and Mrs Neo Disco Punk.
Paul’s sets extensively blend his trademark sounds of house with elements of sleaze. He returns once more as a part of the launch of his street life season, an ongoing dedication to the British quirk of electronic music. Paul recently remixed the “Stop and Look” EP for PBR Streetgang’s Bonar Bradberry and up coming for 2013 is a brand new selection of house music to be released digitally on Beat Machine Records in March.
Paul will add the fun with his exquisite and refined dance euphoria made up of productions and edits including several of his own: a combination of a fascinating labyrinth of rhythmic twists and turns, dirty basslines and unexpected disco riffs consisting of a unique style of house music for the discothèque generation.
Kid Circus is a purveyor of the finest sounds, with sets that feature a hand picked selection of disco, house, breaks and his own unreleased edits, securing him a number of great residencies in London and further bookings abroad.
Kid has also released a diverse range of music on some of the worlds leading labels, including Cr2, Ministry of Sound's Data imprint, ISM, and Freestyle Records. Support for Kid’s output has come from a variety of tastemakers, including Groove Armada, Mark Ronson, Gilles Peterson and Trevor Jackson. Currently crafting new material to be released this year, 2013 will be another great year for Mr Circus.
The Nest is fast becoming the leading of it's kind set in the heart of Dalston and NDP are pleased to be performing at this intimate basement club and live music venue.
