The rumour mill was turning at the last Collect! to the effect that people thought they were at the last ever DLS party.
There’s no smoke without fire but in order to put that thought to rest for now, here is a run down of Collect! March.
Tickets available from Party For The People, Skiddle, Resident Advisor, Balance, Golden Harvest, Hallamshire House and Cremorne. Plenty of ways of sparing me the barrage of phone calls I got leading up to Feb 9th from literally hundreds of you trying to secure entry at the last minute!
When March 9th comes your way it will bring along with it another dazzling selection from the world of house and techno and as experience would have me believe, a few surprises!
Room 1 sees another showcase of sorts with a posse from top new label Bulletdodge (Carl Cox’s favourite label so he claimed). Techno legends Pig and Dan, original outfit Detroit Grand Pubahs and label boss Gareth Whitehead will be making the journey to the best dancefloors in the north on this occasion.
Room 2 will be inhabited by your ever loving crew from Collect! and Itchy Pig smashing out the deep and sexy sounds we call comfort.
Room 3 will be full of cushions and tea. Cushions are also comfortable. I have no personal love of tea.
We hope beyond hope you can all recreate the electric atmosphere of the February Collect! as it was a beautiful sight and sound to behold. The amount of crowd noise and elevated hands as Dense & Pika rocked out a few classics towards the end is burned into my memory.
As we steam toward our fourth birthday and a summer of beach based gigs I implore you to trust us once again to bring the house down in that most inimitable of ways. Ours.

Pig + Dan:
2012 was by far the most exciting year in Pig&Dans 10 year strong career. After releasing their much acclaimed fourth studio album “DECADE” the dynamic duo celebrated five Beatport top tens and sixteen top hundred releases last year. They’ve achieved more than ever before with this amazing flow of monster productions on the worlds top Techno/Tech house labels Soma, Bedrock, Cocoon, Suara, and Tronic.
Looking back, the meeting of minds during a chance encounter of Igor Tchkotoua (Pig) and Dan Duncan on a flight to Spain in 1999, sounds like the opening scene of a Hollywood movie, certainly neither musician could have the written the script of what happened next. And now for the crowning glory!
Detroit Grand Pubahs:
Originally founded by Mack Goudy Jr. (Paris the Black Fu) and Andy Toth (Dr. Toefinger) in Detroit back in 1998. Today’s DGP consists of Paris, his alter egos and the mysterious Mr O. A butcher extraordinaire along with several other guest musicians featuring regularly on productions.
The Pubahs are no novelty act. There is method in the madness and bass in the badness.
They now run their own label DetEleFunk (Detroit Electronic Funk).
Gareth Whitehead:
Gareth is label boss at the ever swelling Bulletdodge Records formed in 2007. Collect! has gained quite an affinity with it’s Scottish guests so far and hopes are high for our most recent import.
