Despite being a long time member of some of the heaviest Detroit music collectives, Marcellus Pittman has waited longer than many of his peers to be paid his dues.
Appearing on wax as early as 1999 he has released a string of high-grade house and techno on seminal D town labels such as Omar S’s FXHE, Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature and his own Unirhythm imprint.
As a founding member of the revered 3 Chairs alongside Theo Parrish, Moodymann and Rick Wilhite, Marcellus is at the heart of one of the most highly rated production teams in electronic music. A team with such depth of talent that they’ve been invited to headline this year’s Dimensions festival above pretty much every DJ and Producer that you’re into..
As a DJ he has a reputation for dropping deep, funk driven sets that draw from multiple genres and eras, all underpinned by a throbbing bump and groove that is unmistakably Detroit house music at its finest.
