"Some read the Wikipedia, some search from Spotify (!) but if one really wants to know what´s up with the Scandinavian contemporary party music (that people also call skweee), should he/she head up to one of the amazing concerts like this one taking place at Chesters on Easter Friday.
Sprutbass from Norway and Mesak from Finland are not only one of the most active performers connected to the "scene" but they can be also found at rather opposite corners of the wide range of skweeepalette:
Sprutbass' (wizard keyboardist on the Korg MS-20) music is rather uplifting, uptempo, melodic, musical and even trancey - and Mesak's (Harmönia label chief) pretty broken, dubbed, detuned and too slow for some ravers.
