The label’s got much needed love and support from all of you and continuing with good words from Loco Dice, tINI, Pan-Pot, Marco Bailey, and many more.
Following our successful EVENTS in London we decide to launch our own label showcase party alongside our main big events. For this occasional we will have Michael L Penman to celebrate his first release on Ovum with Ambivalent.
Michael L Penman (M-nus / Ovum)
Michael is a creative and ambitious music producer and sound designer from Scotland. He has travelled across the globe for many years, working in the music industry in the likes of Los Angeles, London and Berlin.
Michael has developed his sound and technique by taking huge influences from his ever changing surroundings. This has helped him mould together a distinctive sound. Whether it is his funky minimal extracts or the rolling late hour tech house, Michael embodies a sound that helps to intertwine with your body and mind, creating a true listening experience.
This talent has seen him release a number of hits on Slovakian minimal label Leporelo. With each track possessing bouncy catchy bass lines, slamming drums and a wide array of glitched out percussion and effects. These delightful little morsels soon tickled the taste buds of M-nus artist Ambivalent, which soon saw the him chart “Greasy Love” in his October Glass Half Full Chart.
And it wasn't too long till Michael attracted other top DJ’s. The likes of Richie Hawtin and Dubfire started to play a selection of Michael tracks across 2011 and 2012. This lead onto Richie using Michael’s track “Wa” his essential mix on Pete Tong Radio 1 show.
SAOIRSE (Leftroom / Entail Records)
It's taken just a handful of years for SAOIRSE to establish herself as a prominent name on the UK and Ireland's electronic music scene. Having spent many years working on radio including RTE & RINSE FM she has had the honour in to host guests mixes and interviews with the likes of Radioslave, Martin Buttrich, Paul Woolford, DJ Sneak, Catz N Dogz, Jamie Jones, Crazy P, Reboot , Frivolous & Daniel Stefanik . Having relocated to London, SAOIRSE regularly guests at some of the cities favourite parties such as Art of Dark, WYS! @ fabric, Entail Records, Make Me, Half Baked, Krush, Down Under & Creche, events which have seen her playing alongside artists such as Maya Jane Coles, Kerri Chandler, Portable, A Guy Called Gerald, Ewan Pearson, CrazyP, Clockwork, Kozo & Cesare, Jozif, Hector, Marc Houle, Dinky, Ethyl, Massi DL, Christian Burkhardt, Leif, Spencer Parker, Mark Ashken, Chris Carrier, Gavin Heirlhy, Subb-an and Adam Shelton. With several releases now under her belt on labels such as Left'd, Entail Records, Weekend Circuit & Woo.ble production is now the key focus. Although she personally doesn't like to pigeon hole herself into specific genres, SAOIRSE is known for pushing diverse grooves, deep bass lines and riffs that invariably put smiles on faces
Oli_N (Phonica Records / Entail Records)
This summer is the time indicating that it has been already 3 years of Oli_N's acting in London. He is leaving behind him resistible piece of work as a dj with played sets all over London and his home Czech Republic also like artist with music production and multimedia design. Right now you can find him behind the counter of Phonica, around Red Gallery or somewhere in Dalston.
