Set up by electronic music enthusiasts Manzur Iqbal and Martin Krauel, the plan is to promote French House / Nu-Disco / Synth Pop music in Manchester on one Saturday of every month. Cinnabar is the perfect venue with its hidden exclusive location and ‘out of this world’ design praised by the likes of Tim Burton to Wallpaper as “attracting the design conscious to Manchester” In March they featured Lifelike and the Star attraction for April is Alan Braxe, who will be unleashing his spectacular brand of electronic music on Saturday the 27th, supported by resident DJ Martin Krauel and Futurecop!, a synth-pop collaboration with Manzur Iqbal and Peter Carrol. Alan Braxe, also known as Alain Quême, is best known for his collaborations with electronic bassist Fred Falke, Kris Menace and Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk and running the Vulture Music imprint. He began work as a musician in Paris in the 1990s. His nicknamed is a variant of Brax, a region of France where he used to live. His debut single, Vertigo, came out in 1997. His first major hit followed a year later with Music Sounds Better With You – a track co-written with Bangalter (Daft Punk) and Benjamin Diamond under the name Stardust, which reached No1 in the US Dance Chart. With the help of Kris Menace, who co-produced his mega-selling Discopolis, he began DJing in 2006. Recently he has become an in-demand remixer, contributing remixes (frequently co-produced with Fred Falke) for Goldfrapp, Röyksopp, Kylie Minogue and Justice. After the stunning Cinnabar show from Braxe’s fellow-Parisian DJ Lifelike - expect unforgettable night at Manchesta’s most stylish ‘nu’ venue Based in Miles Platting, inside an enormous white warehouse, Cinnabar’s stunning design was created by Miguel Cancio Martins of Buddha Bar fame, and its lighting by Firefly of Hakkasan, London.
