Yuri's Night is named for the first human to launch into space, Yuri Gagarin, who flew the Vostok 1 spaceship on April 12, 1961. Gagarin made his historic 108-minute flight (orbiting around the whole Earth once) and parachute landed near his Vostok 1 capsule in the plains of Russia. This flight made him the first human to orbit the Earth and an international hero.
In 2011, the 50th anniversary of human spaceflight, over 100,000 people attended 567 officially-recognized Yuri's Night events in 75 countries on all 7 continents.
Your collaborators in Fantastic Whomp couldn't possibly imagine a more fitting musical experience than the pioneering futuristic sensibilities of Elite Force, and we're tremendously excited to welcome his return to Denver. This night will be absolutely positively freakin out of this world.
