TIM SWEENEY (Beats in Space Radio/Records)
Tim Sweeney is the DJ of the legendary Beats in Space radio show (http://www.beatsinspace.net/) mixed live by Tim and special guests in New York City on WNYU 89.1 FM every Tuesday night from 10:30pm to 1:00am. The show began in the fall of 1999 and has not missed a week since then. Tim holds a residency at APT and is in demand all over NYC and the world due to his unique style, bringing together all sorts of styles from old school hip hop to techno classics with ample quantities of disco, a lot of rarities, re-edits and remixes including a selection of all the coolest new tunes around as well.
2009 marked the launch of Beats in Space Records. Like the radio show, BIS Records represents an opportunity for Sweeney to showcase artists who're pushing the boundaries of dance music.
