Our aim as always is to bring a selection of not just well known but also up & coming house DJ's/Artists and place them all under one buzzing roof to give you an unforgetable sound & atmosphere. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ZOMBIE DISCO SQUAD Zombie Disco Squad were raised from the dead in 2006. Starting out as DJs, their Zombie Disco Squad parties across east and west London quickly became the thing of legend. Meanwhile, residencies at the likes of Dalston-den Catch and Central-London playground The Social, a slew of internet based mix tapes and a track ‘Straight Boy’ given away for free clocking over 10,000 downloads meant that Zombie Disco Squad soon found themselves touring the world bringing their own version of haunted house to the masses. Things have changed since those days with Lucas Hunter recently departing the Zombies and leaving Nat Self as the last Zombie standing. Whilst the line up may have altered the philosophy has not; Nat’s sound is inspired by everything from classic house, ghetto tech, disco and hip hop. It’s this off-kilter approach to dance music that continues to see Nat in demand as a DJ, playing at the seediest rave dens to the biggest brightest clubs, including a residency at Berlin’s Watergate for ‘Made For The Night’, tours of Japan, North America, Australia, all over Europe, as well as back in his homeland of England. Past releases on labels like Jesse Rose’ Made To Play, Dirty Bird and Sound Pellegrino as well as remixes for big hitters such as Cashmere, Black Box and Groove Armada mean that Nat has proved his versatility and demonstrated his natural skill for reworking tracks. His forthcoming debut album ‘Brains’ on Made To Play (May 2012) is a case in point; an all-out assault on the senses that fully deserves it’s place in the spotlight as Made To Play’s only album release this year. The saying goes, if you want something done properly you better do it yourself, Zombie Disco Squad with Nat Self at the helm are heading for big things. In fact, you’d have to be six feet under to not hear the racket he will be making. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ LEFTWING & KODY Leftwing & Kody grab a sound from the past and bring it right up to date with their own stylistic flourishes. Drawing influences from UK garage labels like Nice n Ripe, Swing City and 500 Rekords, their jacking grooves, swinging hats, hooky, low slung synths and monstrous basslines have been bringing heat to knowing dance floors all over the country for the last 6 months. The duo that released the Bump & Flex EP (one of OFF Recording’s most successful releases in 2012) and the Get Down EP (supported by the likes of Groove Armada, James Zabiela, Bicep, Dusky & Shadow Child) is sure to follow up their breakthrough year in style during 2013, with a remix coming out on NM2 (Noir Music) in January and the much anticipated OFF Recordings follow-up EP ready to land in February. Of course, 2012 ended on a high with another remix for ALiVE and has thoroughly marked out Leftwing & Kody. The sets the duo energetically spin are made up of lots of their own edits and originals, helping to mark out their sounds from the crowd and plotting a cultured line between house, garage and more. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ TOUGH LOVE Influenced heavily by Hip Hop, Garage, Disco and Soul, their eclectic taste is evident in the productions & features heavily in their sets that are pure and purposeful from the very roots of house music. With everything they do there is a focus on the sole element of making you dance. Offering a twist on modern electronic music, Tough Love have rekindled the feel good factor and unleashed it. “We found our feet pretty quickly, taking elements of music genre’s we grew up with from disco infused grooves to garage baselines, but still maintaining deep melodic emotions”. They found recognition early, with their debut EP making the top 40 on both deep house and nu disco chart. This has since been followed up by a top 40 in ‘Taking Over’, and 2 top 20 releases with ‘Can’t Find Words’ & ‘Everything Hurts’. The boys are heavily in demand with a further 5 EP’s confirmed before the end of the year and a whole host of remixes. They’ve been forward thinking in their signings to labels; Runnin Wild [Bubba & Chris James, UK], CUFF [Amine Edge, FR], Love Not Money [UK}, Cream Couture [Mexico] Lucid Dreaming [Australia], Sleazy Deep [UK], Dialtone [Mexico] and more. Tough Love’s track ‘The Night Is Calling is one of the standout tracks of the summer of 2012, consistently being charted and being heard in the worlds biggest and most prestigious venues before a release date has even been set. The boys certainly haven’t gone unnoticed in their movement through the scene gaining track support from Solomun, BUBBA, Russ Yallop, Lee Foss, Amine Edge, Jaymo & George, Lee M Kelsall, WildKats, Sishi Rosch, Hot Since 82, Matt Fear, Flashmob, Ashley Wild, No Artificial Colours, Max Chapman & Chris James to name a few. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ THE REST As well as our headliners playing for you on the night are, Jack Dee & Jack Walpole, John Mills & Paul Holmes, 4 Beat Club, Paul Holmes, John Mills, Teekay and Jafabe, Kelvin Mack & Osh b2b Alfonso We are also very excited to announce Kommon Knowledge will be hosting room 2 again after their mega successful debut hosting our second room at Lightbox.
