After bringing some of the Global underground dance music scenes greatest DJ’s to play at random locations around Teesside like “Terry on the Terrace” (Terry Francis) and “Rui on the River” (Rui Da Silva) we are doing it again for our ever faithful underground music lovers that know the score and we are bringing you a party named “Parker on the Patio”. That’s right we are fetching you Berlins adopted son SPENCER PARKER to spin beats on the patio of the Dickens Inn this coming Bank Holiday Sunday.
SPENCER ...PARKER needs no introduction, he has been playing at the world’s biggest clubs and festivals since most of us were the glint in the milkman’s eye. A regular face at Panorma Bar playing alongside the greatest DJ’s in the world and clocking up an 8 hour set in that House/Techno music institution pretty much says it all.
Acquiring an artist of this high calibre to come play on the Dickens Inn Patio Party to an exclusive crowd of 200 smoggies is going to be up there with the last pair of special party’s we threw outside of the Dungeon. If you were there then you will remember them well.
Spencer Parker is one of Europe's leading djs, his unique style of house and techno is in demand the world over and with his productions, remixes and re-edits being supported by names such as Ryan Elliot, Dinky, Ricardo Villalobos, Radio Slave, Dixon, DJ Deep, Gerd Jansson and Zip, the future looks bright.
Spencer's musical style is simply described best as, underground house and techno (So he fits with us perfectly). A "typical" set from Spencer could include everything from acid house and techno to some cool Chicago jack tracks and the odd trippy vocal. Now a resident of Berlin, Spencer has appeared at all of the city’s best clubs including Watergate, Bar 25, Arena, Wilde Renate and Weekend, but is best known in the city as a regular guest at the world famous Panorama Bar. In addition to playing regularly in his adopted home town, Spencer is in high demand worldwide, with recent visits alone including Russia, China, Japan, America, Australia, France, Italy, Sweden and the UK.
Spencer's production career began in 2005 and has since seen him release on respected labels such as Tsuba, Liebe*Detail, Saved, Nite Grooves, Word and Sound, Buzzin' Fly, King Street, Ovum and Rekids. Having been a big part of the Rekids label since its inception, in 2009 Spencer was also charged with mixing the labels first compilation (entitled "Rekids Revolution") which received rave reviews and was accompanied by an extensive tour and press campaign.
Recently, Spencer also found time to release his debut album "A Gun for Hire" and continues to release singles on Tsuba, Ovum and Rekids while also running 3 separate, vinyl only labels, of his own.
In addition to the fantastic Spencer Parker playing as always when we throw a party such as this we invite some of the areas best local talent to come down and spin some beats and we will be joined by Wally Blacks "Right On" crew, Wole Adeyemis "Exhale Crew" and of course the *riffraff crew will be ever present whom will be fresh back from their stints at the Zoo project Ibiza and Zoo Project festival UK.
