After our massive launch party back in May we've been keen to get back and give you some more Grime, Bassline, Garage and 140bpm goodness. We were plotting our return to Drop The Dumbells, but unfortunately due to reasons beyond ours and their control this can't happen now as its closing down, and we are gutted as we think we could have built something special there. Thanks and good luck to all the Dumbells crew for the future.
Fortunately, we have a new venue only 30 seconds away to utilize, and have secured the familiar surroundings of The Hold in The Shipping Forecast with its Funktion One, which is home to other great nights such as Pause, Get Down and of course, Abandon Silence. Abandon Silence famously hosted Grime lynchpin Logan Sama in The Hold back in 2011, and its the memories of the rowdiness of that night that persuaded us to use this fantastic space.
Keeping in tradition with Go! 001 when Youngstar and Slackk represented different eras, we have secured two special guests who represent the past and future of Grime and 140bpm bass music.
First up repping the new vanguard of twisted instrumental Grime is Northern Ireland prodigy Bloom, who in just 12 short months of releases has deservedly won mass acclaim and recognition for his productions. His 2012 release 'Quartz' combined early-mid '00s style grime instrumental with hyperspatial 2012 dynamics, and was named Number 10 in Fact Mag's rundown of the 100 Best Tracks of the year, and further championing from the site has seen him recently be featured in their legendary podcast series.

It seems easy to be deemed a 'legend' nowadays, and many are given the title a little prematurely, but when it comes to DJ Slimzee, the word legend isn't a strong enough word. Imagine being a DJ and being able to say you have numerous recordings of your sets with Dizzee Rascal MC'ing over them. The imagine being able to say you also have numerous recordings with Wiley MC'ing over them. Slimzee can claim both and is one of only a handful of DJ's who has numerous recordings of his sets with BOTH Dizzee and Wiley MC'ing over them back to back.
Slimzee was one of the first DJ's to have a show on Rinse FM nearly 20 years ago, and his association with the station is legendary. In 2005 Ofcom disconnected a Rinse FM radio transmitter and Slimzee received an ASBO, believed to be the first of its kind, banning him from every rooftop in the borough of Tower Hamlets. We don't think you get more legendary than that!
He also founded Pay As You Go Cartel and won numerous awards in the early 2000's whilst playing at the massive Sidewinder raves, and he counts the likes of Jackmaster, Four Tet and Bok Bok (who recently chose him to headline his Grime special on the Boiler Room) amongst his fans.
We are unbelievably proud to be giving him his Liverpool debut, and hope you join us in welcoming him to the city and showing him what we can do. Don't sleep on this one!
