DJ SODEYAMA's label ARPA RECORDS – founded in 2011 – has grown into one of the most active labels in the Japanese electronic music scene. Distributed worldwide by Word & Sound (the geniuses behind the curated record store WhatPeoplePlay.com) the first release on ARPA was “Miles” which quickly gained support from the worldwide DJ community: The original mix features some heavy minimal beats overflowing with an ever expanding rhythm with poetry reading by Richard Spitzer while the flipside was overhauled by 8BIT and CECILLE head honcho Nick Curly leading to huge support from LOCO DICE, JOSH WINK, DUBFIRE to name but a few. On current releases ARPA signed up remixing and production skills from GLIMPSE, RADIO SLAVE, TIM XAVIER.
SODEYAMA has been a figurehead of the Tokyo electronic scene since the early 90’s but during the 00's he turned his hand to production and quickly released a pair of critically acclaimed albums: Metal Heart (2006) and Dual (2007) which were quickly followed up by Now Is The time on Canada's ARCHIPEL label which hit the ground running with a release tour of North America and fantastic support from LAURENT GARNIER to LUCIANO. 2010 saw the release of the One Time EP – moving deeper and more subtle than earlier releases striking a balance between club and electronica - and 2011 saw the launch of ARPA.
