  • Minimal Force Records has travelled around Europe through our showcases and our artists are leaving their musical mark wherever they perform. After a great success in London, Berlin and Patras (Greece), we cannot do anything else but keep on working hard to ensure that our events are always of high quality. It was not difficult to find our next destination, as QUGAS and Tatumba, two artists that we had the honour to have on board in our Katalog Vol.1 release, are based in Galway, Ireland. So, here we go... Theo Komp and Red pig flower (based in London) will join them on the 3rd May at Cellar Galway for our fourth showcase! Artists Bio: Theo Komp Theo Komp was born and raised in Greece in a family where music was highly appreciated and he was exposed to a few talented musicians. He soon realised a profound interest for electronic music. Over the years, he experimented with different kinds and aspects of music, song writing, production, recording, sound design, mixing and mastering. He started producing music in 2006 and it was then when he enrolled in Berklee College of Music. In 2010, he moved to London. Since then he has performed in many venues like: Egg, Rhythm Factory, Café 1001, Warehouse Club, Pacha, Ministry Of Sound, Sisyphos, Cavo Paradiso to mention but a few; he has been releasing his music in labels like Keep Out Recordings, Mind Ability, Deep Records and Solid Tracks Records. Nowadays Theo is the main man behind Minimal Force Records, a London based label specialized in minimal and techno. http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/theokomp https://soundcloud.com/theo-komp Red Pig Flower Red Pig Flower is a London and Berlin based DJ, producer and artist. She started her career as a professional DJ at club Rooty (Tokyo) and Air (seoul), and sizzled up the dance floor with a tribal beat in an impressive style. From 2009, she became more well known as a party guest DJ and organizer, working with artists such as House Rules (Korea) and Capsule, Hico and Towa Tei (Japan). She became an outreach DJ for the Pacemaker product and in 2010 became sponsored by the Samick Innovative Music System, a Korean branch of Native Instruments. However, Red piG floweR’s most extraordinary skill is her habit of getting peoples’ hearts racing with tribal beats and cooling the steam off with upbeat techno sets. However from 2010 she moved to London to continue to explore new beats and grooves, with endless passion and experience of searching new sounds and environments. Now her set is more experimental and interesting with variety of tribal beat and experimental sounds by Ableton Live. She also tries to put more notion of sound art in her set, trying furthermore to combine her art and music together to draw people inside of more unusual atmosphere. She now makes her self busy to organiging events around East London and flying back and forth between London, Berlin and other Europian countries.. It is worth keeping on eye on her challenge to make new sounds and art. http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/redpigflower https://soundcloud.com/ekalprince Qugas Gediminas Mickus a.k.a. Qugas was interested in music since he was a child, a very noisy child that never stopped singing and ‘playing’ on everything in his reach, from toy instruments to household equipment. At school he often took part in many music related shows and performances. There his adventure with DJ-ing started. At only 12 years of age Qugas participated in school DJ-ing contest, where he mixed his tracks recorded on analog tapes with a simple player. As the youngest contestant Qugas got the whole crowd moving to his music. He realized then that this is what he wants to do. While still in Lithuania, Qugas organized and played on countless parties for his friends using mostly Tractor DJ software. This was not enough, he start to acquire the need to do more, this need gives birth to the producer we know today. As a producer he always had great attention to details, producing his own samples from scratch. He describes his sound as deep and minimalistic. 2005 the year that sees Qugas leave Lithuania and move to Ireland in the hopes of perfecting his art and grow as both Dj and Producer. As a DJ since his arrival in Ireland he has earned the recognition in Galway DJ scene playing in many private parties & local pubs. In his sets we can hear his predominant styles minimal and tech house fusion with great use of effects, loops and samples. In 2009 along with DJ Rais D (Latvia) and DJ Tatumba (Lithuania) he formes HOUSEWORX DJ Team. As a member of this project he is organizing and taking part in many events, including series of summer boat parties and countless gigs at local bars and clubs. https://soundcloud.com/qugas Tatumba Tatumba aka Auris started his career as DJ insecondary school in Lithuania. An opportunity had arisen to play in Galway (Ireland),This is where he started to play at some local barsand house parties. His knowledge of electronic music grew along with confidence. In 2006 he has attended a DJ competition where he Finished in 3rd out of a total of 48 DJ`s.From this he was invited to show his skills in some of the Cities biggest night clubs. At this time he was still looking for his music style to suit his personality. He was playing from electro-house to minimal, then progressed to progressive house and techno sounds. 2007 was the year of hard work where he went from playing for fun topursuing his passion for music. From this he entered another DJ competition where he made it to the final 4.This is where he met Latvian DJ Rais D.Rais D, another DJ who shared the same dream about playing music, while looking down at the crowd going wild, listening to their beats .Rumours in the city began to circulate about two DJsthat had collaborated together to create music that Galway had not yet heard. They took their chance to prove themselves by organisinga boat party down the river Corrib which was a huge success.
