Emanuel Satie
Being born in Frankfurt is not such a bad omen if you want to make electronic music. 26 years later and after a few Motown Records and hip hop influences and a 6-month traineeship at Cocoon it is safe to say that the advantage of the birth city has paid off for Emanuel Satie! Fascinated by artists like Luciano, Sven Väth and Ricardo Villalobos, Emanuel initially starts as a DJ. He moves between house and techno – always ahead, always deep and with groove and soul. The focus of his actions is crystal clear: the happenings on the dance floor.
But at some point this is not enough. The desire to produce his own music brings about two consequences: Lots of his own productions and sets, which consist more and more of these. Since 2011 Emanuel performed all of his gigs as live acts using only his own tracks. His style is housey, danceable, groovy, deep and soulful, sometimes even with an atmospheric touch and R&B and Soul influences. The fact is and what is relevant is that the guy is convincing in clubs, at Beatport and in the record store. Releases on renowned labels like Cécille Records, Souvenir, Noir Music and bouq. speak just as clearly as the support which these titles are getting from DJ colleagues – from renowned ones, mind you: DJ T., Butch, Noir, Tiefschwarz, Huxley and Carlo Lio amongst many others are not only playing but also charting Emanuel's music. Quality prevails even in times when the technical barriers have fallen to the extent that almost anybody can produce.
Samy Boulbrima
Samy Boulbrima is just a regular guy from Switzerland who felt 2007 in love with electronic music. He discovered the EDM scene earlier but never imagined that this kind of music can be so powerful.
After going out weekend for weekend for three years he had a little idea how this music is written, and why this music can express so much that it enthrall the whole audience at the same time in a club. He started to reflect about this sound and talk about it with other people to figure out why these moments so forceful are. The conclusion was it doesn’t matter. The most important those in this moment the people are together and make a huge audience who are enjoying this beautiful soundscapes and atmospheres. It didn’t matter if you are white or black for example. It was all about the music.
Especially in Basel (CH) which is a three country corner with Germany and France. So Samy decided to start doing his own music. In 2012 he has finally finished a live set and is ready to play in clubs.
Upcoming in June 2013 are releases and remixes on Fortyone, Fenou and Schallbox.
