4 Years seams like a long time, but as we get set to celebrate our 4th Birthday, it only seams like yesterday we were getting ready for our first event in Undertone Basement with a line up of local DJ's, nervous that our brand of chunky techno wouldn't be appreciated in the welsh capital. The rest as the say is history, and we return after a bit of break ready to bring you more epic parties, good music and an atmosphere we are renouned for.
As has always been the case over the last 4 years, we bring out the big guns for our Birthday parties and this year is our biggest line up to date. We bring back the DJ who has rocked our party the hardest, as well as bringing one of the hottest Dj's and producers in the techno world to Cardiff for the first time.
HARVEY McKAY
Harvey McKay has emerged from Glasgow’s underground clubbing scene to become one of the hottest prospects in electronic music today. His latest release ‘First Strike From Mars’ on the mighty Cocoon Recordings has been a huge hit and the highlight in Sven Vath’s recent sets. From his breakthrough track Nightwalker on Soma Records – which quickly garnered massive support from Richie Hawtin, becoming one of his most played tracks of that year – Harvey has built a reputation for one-off originals, killer remixes with DJ sets that travel from deep driving house to powerful techno but always with a dark energetic party signature sound. Harvey's career has gone from strength to strength, gaining support from Adam Beyer, Sven Vath, Stephan Bodzin, Laurent Garnier, Michael Mayer, Luke Slater, Slam and Green Velvet. Although he is never one to be pigeonholed by genre , his very unique driving sound is there throughout all his productions. From the jacking tech house sound of summer hit ‘Show Face’ on Saved Records, to the deep powerful techno of ‘Supercell’ on Drumcode and regular appearances on Soma Records - Harvey is never afraid to vary the style and vibe of his productions, always experimenting sonically. With up coming releases on Cocoon, Soma & Saura and with further EPs and a string of huge remixes confirmed for 2014, Harvey is set to continue crafting his individual techno sound that he has become known and respected for.
DAVE THE DRUMMER
Anyone who’s been into Techno Music for the last 10 years or so will probably have stumbled across one of D.A.V.E. The Drummer’s records. He’s the one of the key producers behind the Acid Techno sound hailing from London in the late 1990′s and owner of one of the best known underground techno labels in the world, Hydraulix. Since 1997 Dave has been DJ’ing all over the world playing great tracks, both new and old, from his vast catalogue of techno music. As a DJ, he has a reputation for being innovative and imaginative on the turntables, and now, playing with NI Traktor Scratch and an armload of fresh, often exclusive material, his monthly mix DJ sets have become a big buzz online as well as rocking his regular gigs. His recent remix and production work on labels such as: Reklusive, Elektrax, Naked Lunch, Phobiq and of course Hydraulix, have picked up much attention from some of the worlds top techno DJ’s and often turn up in many of their track lists. Supporting DJ’s include: Dave Clark, Carl Cox, Chris Liberator, A.Paul. Len Faki, Fergie, Bryan Zentz, Axel Karakasis, DJ Murphy, Wehbba, Joseph Capriati, Mike Humphries, Space DJz, Eric Sneo, Sasha Carassi & more…
