  • Clash presents a series of three electrifying live shows this September at London’s most exciting new destination for music, Oslo in Hackney. Curated by our electronic music and live events team, we’re showcasing a handful of our current favourite acts and hottest tips. On Thursday 11th, rising superstar songwriter MNEK takes his brand of soulful pop to the East London stage. The Virgin-signed producer, who has penned tracks for Duke Dumont and Rudimental, has also garnered attention for his own solo tracks, including ‘Every Little Word’, ‘Wrote A Song About You’ and various remixes for Gorgon City and Mutya Keisha Siobhan. The 19-year-old is poised for stratospheric explosion, and will be joined by a very special guest on stage this September. The second in the series will also be the Cambria Instruments label launch – the unveiling of Nathan Fake and Wesley Matsell’s brand new imprint. Having both already made a splash on James Holden’s Border Community, the musicians from Norfolk and Wales will be playing individual sets on September 18th to inaugurate this exciting career step. Joining them deckside will be Warp’s patten, whose diverse and provocative ‘ESTOILE NAIANT’ was released by the label in February to widespread acclaim. It’ll be a thoroughly British house and techno affair. The final date, September 25th, will boast a slightly grimier outlook. LV & Josh Idehen are responsible for forthcoming LP ‘Islands’, after the success of 2011’s ‘Routes’, with first single ‘Imminent’ being hailed by music critics as their strongest work to date. Spoken word poet Josh recounts tales of life in London with poise while the Hyperdub badmen LV provide unmatched production. They’ll be supported by grime general Darq E Freaker, producer of Danny Brown’s ‘Blueberry (Pills And Cocaine)’ and responsible for balls-to-the-wall releases on Numbers and Tru Thoughts. Last but not least comes one of our recent Next Wave artists, Sega Bodega, whose Rustie and HudMo-inspired reworks of Ciara and Missy Elliot have already gained him a fierce following.
