  • After our successful launch party in September the Bi -monthly WAX FACTORY returns again to Glasgow on the 14th November AT 69 Below For a night of solid Techno with a heavy duty line up of some of the UK's most forward thinking DJ's.so hold tight this 1 will cause damage . From London UK we welcome Jerome Hill Jerome has been instrumental in bringing "Ugly" back into Techno scene with his own unique stamp of "The Real Techno" on his label and bi-monthly Techno club in London called "DON'T" , which for the past few years has seen some of the underground techno stars appear along side himself such as Paul Birken - Mike Dred ( Kosmik Kommando ) - Phat Analogue ,Truss MPIA3 , and many many more .DJing and collecting records since 1990, Jerome has always had the knowledge and skills to rock a crowd and is well known for mixing the unmixable and playing the tunes other DJs won't. Playing his first gig at the legendary Wag club on Wardour street, then holding a long term residency on infamous London sound system JIBA throughout the 90's, jump forward to now, with gigs all over the place he works hard and has a respect for the music that won't allow him to cut corners or fall into line with current scenes and trends. Respected as much for his scratching and mixing skills as for his track selection, and shunning the image of the modern laptop DJ, Jerome is Vinyl all the way and loves challenging himself and the crowd on the decks.. be sure, there'll always be a surprise just around the corner.. Jerome is kept busy running the "Don't" label since the year 2000 (fighting against the blandness and sheep mentality that pollutes the techno scene) - All releases are on vinyl as standard , the love for plastic coming in part from his 8 year stint managing London's "Dragon Discs" & "Trackheads" record shops. After co-running the wildly eclectic "Swerved" night for 5 years, 2012 saw the birth of the "Don't" club night, dedicated to showcasing real techno in the capital and bringing over guests who rarely get to perform in the UK. As active in the Hip hop scene as in the Techno,You can catch him providing the scratching as part of UK Old skool legends "The Criminal Minds" and running the Fat Hop record label, also producing under the pseudonym "Itsu Uno" Jerome maintains a hectic DJ schedule, touring Brazil once a year and playing regularly at seminal clubs and festivals around the world such as Tresor (Berlin), House of God (Birmingham), Fervo (Sao Paulo), Circuito (Sao Paulo), FierceHeads (Tokyo), Bangface (London), Glade Festival (UK), Bloc Weekend (UK) as well as staying true to his roots in the London free party and DIY club scene. A self confessed sufferer of multiple music personality disorder he plays it all from Techno through to Hip Hop, Old Skool, dancehall, funk depending on the party and sometimes all of it mashed up together - but always peppered with a few nutty ones that you won't be expecting! His versatility allows him to be the only DJ to play at both Raindance (the rave) and Raindance (the London film festival) during the same year ! As well as hosting a weekly 'Rave history' show on London's legendary Kool FM and being a regular musical contributor on BBC Radio London! 2012 saw him invited to play both London megaclub Fabric and the Spiral Tribe 23rd Birthday on board the MS. Stubnitz ship and It's this clash of underground/overground that helps to ensure things are kept fresh and are never the same twice. Nomad Spectrum Co-owner of subsekt, Paul Spectrum first heard Cabaret Voltaire’s Nag Nag Nag in the late 70's he knew his musical journey had started. In those early years he seeked out the abnormal and discovered the likes of Throbbing Gristle, SPK and many other dark electronic industrial pioneers. Like most people in his day Paul was in several punk bands playing drums and attempting to sing playing festivals and in the London punk scene. Later he started experimenting with drum machines and synths in more traditional groups playing at prestigious venues such as The Marquee and Ronnie Scotts – but there was a new sound emerging which took his interest. When Paul started hearing tunes from Detroit he knew he had found something new and exciting – he started Djing techno at underground raves and the London Gay scene under a variety of names and played at Trade and Eurobeat 2000 as well as having various residences – in addition he would compose and play his own dark ambient productions in chillout rooms across the country and was also commissioned to play at many art events and even performed an hour piece for an alternative dance event at Saddlers Wells But that was all in the past now Paul goes under the name of Nomad Spectrum who produces a spacey dark flavour of techno with a number of releases on Rough Rabbit, Sonic Boom, Viral Outbreak Digital and Dark and Sorouneus with more releases in the near future. He can be heard on various Podcasts with his own monthly shows playing flowing, ambient, dark, experimental and hard techno Paul is also the co-founder of Subsekt.com a techno production community, which has a forum, blog and podcast 3Phazegenerator As one of the most exciting in a new breed of producers making an impact on the techno industry, 3Phazegenerator draws from a powerful collection of original material and heavyweight remixes His unique cutting edge sound has created such a demand his music is now used by labels across the globe. His dj sets give a living, pulsing, organic power and have earned him a loyal following beyond even the realms of techno. This 'art form' as he calls it embraces unusual and flowing textures with intricate dark pulsing rhythms that seem to run in their own time yet are at once deeply comforting and hook the dance floor. Hailing from the UK his style has been blasting across Europe for the last 8 years. His presence as a performer has a reputation for inciting crowds, giving a dynamic freshness that is vibrant and memorable. Performances included Definition (Santa Catarina, Brazil), Soundfeer (Czech Republic), Moontrip (Poland), Trust In Techno (Germany), Upgrade (Rome, Italy), DAMP (Gotenburg, Sweden), Gobsmacked (Dublin, Ireland), Take it to the river (Portugal), Techno Legends (Vienna, Austria), Techno Logie (Schaffhausen, Swiss), Multikore (Berlin, Germany), Smash Techno (London, UK). plus many more He has run Recoil the flag ship show for Techno FM’s UK side for 3 years now and also ran a feature on Fnoob techno called Multikore live from Berlin for 6 months. He has had over 85 releases and two full length album releases since 2006 across more than 50 labels including Cluster, Electrax, Shout Records, Interstate One, Mutate To Survive, Gobsmacked, Heaven to Hell, Freitag Ltd, Reactif, Carbon Audio, Flatlife, Generator UK, Polymeric…for up to date information on releases, gigs, interviews and exclusive interviews please goto his official website : http://www.3phazegenerator.tv/ VENUE - 69 Below Stock Exchange House, 69 Nelson Mandela Place, Glasgow, G2 1QY For more information /tickets etc call 07909049932
