We are Content. We are back. We are five. And what better way to celebrate our 5th birthday in the esteemed company of Chez Damier and Recloose?
Recloose came to the attention of most of the world with the utterly brilliant “Dust” which appealed to DJs from all over the musical spectrum upon it's release back in 2005, but he has been releasing for a lot longer – putting out musically forward thinking material since his first EP in 1998 on Carl Craig's Planet E records.
Since then he has put out four full albums and released an impossibly diverse collection of tracks and remixes on some of the world's finest labels such as Delusions of Grandeur, Peacefrog and Rush Hour.
He has been DJing since 1995 so is no stranger to rocking a party and his sets are similar to his productions – genre bending, technically tight, cutting edge, but above all underpinned by damn fine grooves.
Joining Recloose on the night will be a man who needs no introduction, Chez Damier. Raised in Chicago, Chez was around at the very beginnings of house music and later through opening the infamous Music Institute (the club where Derrick May and Juan Atkins learnt their trade), he had a hand in the formation of techno.
Through the mid nineties, with his output on Kevin Saunderson’s KMS and later his own label Prescription and its offshoot Balance (that he founded with Ron Trent), he created a form of music that is often seen as the blueprint for what is commonly known as deep house today.
To say that Chez is a legend is a quite frankly a huge understatement. If you saw him when he played for us back in 2010, you will know how good he is and we are delighted to be able to welcome him, Recloose and you to join us as we celebrate 5 years of Content in one of Manchester's most famous venues - Spektrum.
We expect this event to be a roadblock so suggest buying a ticket to avoid disappointment.
