Portuguese Rafael Toral is a leading figure in the world of electronic music. A member of Pop Dell'Arte in the 1980s, he went on to make the internationally acclaimed albums Wave Field in 1994 and Violence of Discovery and Calm of Acceptance in 2000, structured around the electric guitar. In 2004, he completely revolutionised his approach with the launch of the Space Program in 2004, using experimental electronic instruments and producing truly fascinating futuristic music. This semi-informal Space Quartet plays without a musical score, seemingly more of a working concept than an actual band.
