Muak Weclomes Germany’s Shik Stylko
Saturday 18th October sees Muak (People Together) welcome Shik Stylko, Germany’s premiere producers and DJ duo, to perform a special headline set at London’s Bar 54.
Joining Shik Stylko on the night will be Muak founders Zaki and Manish, alongside residents People Like Us, to deliver the next instalment of real House music.
Shik Stylko are Sebastian Krieg and Roman Freihoff, a team of DJs and musicians who established their reputation as purveyors of real House music as resident DJs at Stuttgart’s M1 Club where their own unique take on Soulful House music, tinged with tribal, electro and funky sounds, turned it into one of Germany’s most respected clubs.
With Shik Stylko's sense for mass-moving sounds, grew universal recognition from some of the worlds top House DJs which lead to joint club sessions with, amongst others, Masters at Work, DJ Pierre, Roger Sanchez, Dimitri from Paris and Eric Morillo.
In January 2002 Sebastian and Roman realised their plan to produce music with passion and profession with the launch of ‘Realbasic Recordings’. Their first release, ‘Groove you out tonight’, featuring the House legend Tyree Cooper, reached number eight in the respected Mixmag Hype Charts and quickly became an underground club anthem.
This track marked the starting point for many more releases, remixes and compilations, culminating in a remix of ‘Back for More’ on Muak’s very own label ‘Muak (Music)’.
With another special night in the Muak calendar about to take place, organiser Zaki Lais said: “This exclusive set from one of our very own producers/remixers again demonstrates what Muak is all about – bringing the best in real House music to the best party crowd. See you on the dance floor.�
