OiOi is back at Fire on May 1st for its 1st birthday and this one might just be the most exciting yet. After a killer 1st year putting together some insane line-ups, with the likes of, Egyptrixx, Murlo, Artful Dodger, Slimzee, Preditah, Phaeleh, Riko Dan, Mumdance, El-B and Girl Unit, The birthday is set to be off the scale.
Topping the bill are Legendary grime duo Newham Generals, formed of D double E and Footsie, true veterans of the scene and responsible for some of grimes most reloaded bangers such as ‘Hard’, ‘Burn’ and ‘Head get mangled’ these two are guaranteed to reign pure fire at OiOi’s first birthday. Joining them are special guests from Butterz Records who will be announced on April 13th.
Also on the line-up are Foundation aka Sticky b2b Scott Garcia, true figureheads from the UKG scene and still as hot as ever, playing a extended 2hr set they will be spinning some serious classics with 20 years of experience behind them and in impeccable style.
On top of that we have fresh talent Amy Becker heading down, after entering the limelight at the young age of 19, doing regular residencies in London, Leeds, and on Mista-jam’s daily dose on radio 1xtra, she is one to watch!
The one and only Spooky Bizzle tops off the roster for OiOi’s birthday bash, the heavyweight grime DJ/producer has been fundamental in the grime scene over the years and is known for his seamless production and intricate us of samples!
Room two will be a Tumble Audio take-over, hailing from the Midlands, straight out of Nottingham, a Record label turned club night, Tumble Audio are renowned for their hybrid approach to garage and grime, with a huge manifesto of wobbling basslines and high tempo slammers, this rare London appearance is not to be missed!
