  • SUBMERGE :: Orlando Solis also known as Submerge is an American electronic music producer and DJ from Chicago, and son of successful musician Jose Luis Napoleon Solis. The techno aficionado can now be found playing some of the world’s most renowned places such as Berlin’s Berghain, Spain’s Fabrik, Vienna’s Camera Club, Nature One, and Def-Con 1 festival. Known for running the label Impact Mechanics, Orlando Solis own productions can also be found on the pristine label Mote Evolver, After successfully touring Europe several times in 2010, his appearance has been in demand each and every year. Submerge’s technical knowledge has landed him an endorsement by the respectable company Allen and Heath and his knowledge of IT has also landed him work at the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Orlando also performs live under the alias Impact Mechanics and his music is being played by some of the biggest acts. RAÍZ :: Producers and label owners Vangelis and Vidal Vargas have performed worldwide from North America to Europe to Japan. Through their connection with Drumcell they developed the label, production group and music collective Droid Behavior. Aside from curating forward thinking events such as Interface, Raíz have released affective music on labels including Electric Deluxe, Historia Y Violencia, Droid Recordings and their own label VRV. As performers, Raíz fully harness the capabilities of technology to create a thick blend of Detroit-influenced techno and hard, gritty house. Years of production experience inform their Live PA / Digital DJ hybrid approach, as they layer each track’s core essentials and live improvisation to craft sets into a unique and narrative arch. Their releases follow suit, drawing from their musical training and diverse influences, to shape conceptual tracks of substance. Xavier De Enciso :: A longtime fixture of LA’s electronic music scene, Xavier De Enciso has DJed at and promoted parties of all sizes, from lofts to sports arenas and everything in between, playing with legends of dance music. He is currently the resident and architect of LOVE FIX, an LA event promotion collective dedicated to fostering an underground community, creating space, and dance. UGLARworks Once an acronym for the Ulysses Guide to the L.A. River, UGLAR has grown to mean far more, and now stands for Unified Group of Los Angeles Residents. Adding ‘works’ to UGLAR to create UGLARworks honors Los Angeles’s unmatched mural heritage and the great era of public works mural projects, such as those done by Rivera, Siqueiros, and others. UGLAR is comprised of visual artists Evan Skrederstu, Christopher D. Brand, Steve Martinez, Espi, Jose A. Lopez, and new member Ryan Gattis. Click here to see their collaborative, as well as individual, creative work. The portfolio covers everything from drawings and studies to paintings and large-scale murals. Despite painting together for nearly a decade, the original group of five made the decision to officially name themselves in 2008 when creating a book about the L.A. River, its art, and its denizens. Told from the perspective of a fictitious Angeleno, Ulysses L. Zemanova, “The Ulysses Guide to the L.A. River” (Grimmelbein Kitamura Editions, ISBN: 0979868297) captures an era of unprecedented urban creativity—a time when the concrete riverbed still teemed with graffiti—while exploring the complexities of the river and the life it supports. UGLAR has done commissioned work for the L.A. Chamber Orchestra, the Wende Museum, the Pasadena Museum of California Art, and others. The Los Angeles Times and The Wall Street Journal have both profiled UGLAR, and its members Evan Skrederstu and Jose A. Lopez were featured along with Chaz Bojorquez, RETNA, REVOK, and others in PMCA’s Street Cred, a show dedicated to showcasing L.A.’s finest graffiti artists. UGLAR has also done numerous mural projects for L.A. Freewalls, took part in “L.A. Freewalls Inside” at LALA Gallery, and recently featured alongside Ron English and Shepherd Fairey in “Public Works,” a groundbreaking outdoor public art exhibit featured on billboards all over Los Angeles.
