After a brief break we return to Pacino's At Night this coming Friday for a much needed reboot - where we will be showcasing the talents of our resident-in-chief Mark Clancy and resident/co-founder Conky, with a special guest appearance from Do Funkk - which we are very excited about indeed. Do Funkk lives and breathes for quality electronic music and has a serious penchant for the deeper side of house, techno and much more besides.
DO FUNKK (Domus Records / Spaced Out Records)
Addicted digger for the most hidden, forgotten and rare gems and passionated in sharing all his finds, Do-Funkk is a music lover, record collector, disc jockey and aspiring producer with big love for music without any barriers of genre or age.
Do-Funkk’s influences and inspiration come mainly from Detroit, Berlin and Chicago scenes, but sometimes it is possible to hear some french house, as well as disco cuts in his sets. As his sound evolves with flow of the crowd, Do-Funkk’s main sound lays in deep analog baselines and raw drums that could move between chilled sounds to disco, house, minimal, techno and acid grooves.
His passion for digging and listening music led him two years ago to become a contributor of Faciendo Global Radio, working alongside heavy weighted producers and Dj’s of the underground scene such as Desyn Masiello, Tom Morgan, BalErik, Dj Dory, and Rowan Blades. Faciendo is a project focused in creating creative Dj sets influenced by the sound from all the contributors from many cultures around the world and educating the listener and the scene itself.
Based currently in Ireland, Do-Funkk has supported various local and international acts and had shared the controls with some international dj’s such as Tama Sumo, Kenny Larkin, Ian Pooley, Ripperton, Martin Parra, Fran Hartnett, Tim Green, Los Suruba, Marco Balcazar, and Dosem. In the last 4 years, Do-Funkk has also supported the promotion of local events as well as holding a residency at a local club night, Melodic Dublin. He also has headlined events at House 101 Limerick, F. Bolko Mexico and Offbeat Dublin.
As well as Djing, Do-Funkk has always been interested in production of creative sounds and music. He is currently working is some of his old and new projects close to release and launch his own label Domus Records. Domus Records more than a label is a project which would support current and new-comers to the underground music world in their projects and stimulate their creativity of doing a unique and different sound using new, old and creative methods to create music.
