DANCE for CHARITY - SUPPORT for REFUGEES
This is a charity event organised by No Fit State, ToiToi Musik and Shapes to react to the refugee crisis that currently intensifies on European shores. All proceeds from this event, i.e. from ticket sales will go to charity. All artist will play for free. For you, this means, the more tickets you buy, the more you donate, the more you help.
WHAT IS HAPPENING
Over the last few months its been painful to watch the Syrian refugee crisis unfold. It is a horrific journey these people are faced with as they flee war, crossing many borders to reach a safe place, where they are not judged or treated inhumanly.
As international organisations like UNHCR are overwhelmed or hindered in their ability to act swiftly by overburdening bureaucracies, volunteers and small, local organisations start to fill the gaps. They offer basic help like food, water and shelter and advice to those that arrive in small boats on Greek Lesbos.
We have chosen one of those small but swift charities to benefit from this event.
WE WILL BE HELPING Help for refugees in Molyvos (Starfish charity) - our friend Peggy Whitfield is there working as a volunteer receiving the refugees. The situation is crucial, they are much in need of help.
