Ascend is a new series of events dedicated to pushing up and coming DJs, aiming to provide a stepping stone for these DJs to establish themselves in the underground clubbing scene. At each event Watch The Hype residents are joined by two guests. Starting in the small-capacity basement venue of Ladybird in Islington, these parties provide a close-knit vibe with full focus on the music. Our first night on 10 October sold out in advance, so make sure you get your tickets soon to avoid missing the party!
Ascend #2 continues the series by introducing two very close affiliates with Watch The Hype:
Puddy - a long-term resident DJ at DBE in Loughborough. This man knows how to tailor his set to work a crowd: from pumping house at the DBE parties to mind-bending techno when the mood darkens to grooving all-night disco sets at high-end bars. Not only is he an accomplished selector, Puddy has been a supporter of Watch The Hype from the offset, and it's an absolute honour to finally get him down to play for us.
Hadda - although young, he has already began to make his mark on the scene. Hailing from the Isle of Wight, he made the winning mix for Bestival's 'Island DJ mix' competition, winning him a spot on the festival's incredible line up last year! Also a budding producer, his music presents an intriguing combination of techno, grime and jungle. Having supported his music since the beginning of this year, we're mad excited to get him partying with us.
