It's been nearly two and a half decades of dancing, drinking and debauchery. We truly are 24 year party people, so to celebrate this we will be throwing a 24 hour party over 2 secret locations. Both of the parties will be themed on what inspired us when we first started. Clubs such as Studio 54, The Paradise Garage, The Loft, Disco 2000 and Limelight weren't just nightclubs, they were surreal playgrounds where anything goes.
Nightclubs were places that took you away from the world outside and transported you into another world. A safe environment where one could express oneself in any shape or form without prejudice or ridicule. I will always remember those early years when me and Ralph would travel to New York to see DJs like Junior Vasquez play for 17 hours, whilst back in England a standard set was an hour and a half. These were predominantly gay clubs full of fabulous characters, it was almost like being in a pantomime and the girls wore very little all, yet nobody blinked an eye and everyone did their own dance. It was a real eyeopener for us to see such liberal places where you could do almost anything you wanted as long as you weren't offending anyone else. They were very sexually provocative.
The nights were totally choreographed to give you the ultimate nightclub experience. Anything could happen and generally did. The focus was not just on the DJs but also the dancers vogueing on podims and crazy cabaret acts, the crowd and how they looked. Everyone was a popstar. This was the first time I heard surround sound and when the lights when along with the music. If there's was a brak in the record, the lights would black out. When the track kicked back in, so did the lights.
This year we're paying every attention to details as we would like to take you back to those heady hedonistic days. We are going to create a safe environment for you all. It's not just about coming in your birthday suit, which by the way, is allowed.We want everybody to make the effort and we will be giving away prizes to different categories. Prizes will include tickets to The Crazy Horse Show in Paris (Best Dressed Couple), tickets to Raymond's Review Bar and entrance to The Torture Garden or Horse Meat Disco.
Don't worry, we will be giving you a host of costume ideas during the coming weeks, some for the shy and some for the not so shy!
Our 24th Birthday will be hosted by the infamous Mike & Claire from Manumission. There will be extraordinary cabaret acts, burlesque and poll dancers as well as lots of special guests. We don't want to give to much away at this stage, but expect the unexpected but as with back then, anything can and will happen.
All of this with a quality musical backdrop featuring the very best DJs from around the world. The reason we are drip feeding out information is to create the excitement of yesteryear.
Prepare yourself for a night of nocturnal naughtiness in the nicest environment!!
