Born with perfect pitch into a highly musical family, Nikko Gibler's life has been
inevitably surrounded by music all his life. Both of Gibler's parents are pianists in their
own right and thus his love for instruments, sounds, rhythms and frequencies came
naturally with time. He began playing the piano at the tender age of 3; Composing by
the time he was 8; and producing music professionally for advertising agencies in
Mexico by the age of 12.
As a solo dance music producer, Nikko has released original material and remixes on
many internationally acclaimed labels such as: Bedrock, Leftroom, Culprit, Petfood,
Time Has Changed, Audiofly’s “Supernature”, Poland's Your Mama's Friend and many
more. His collaboration with Matt Tolfrey and Lazaro Casanova, the “LAX” EP was
released on Los Angeles-based imprint Culprit in late May of 2012, following Nikko’s
debut on the immensely respected label in 2011. All three songs on the LAX EP climbed
their way up to the Top 30 Deep House Chart on Beatport. Later in 2013 his
collaborations with both Genova-based Lula Circus and Montreal's very own Maher
Daniel received global notoriety after top dis such as Dennis Ferrer and John
Digweed included them in some of their iconic annual mixes. Such was the case on
Digweed's Live in London and Bedrock 14 compilations.
In February of 2014, Nikko decided to join forces with Jake Patrick Cohen and released
their debut single as “RICOSHËI” titled “Perfect Like You” on DJ Koze’s highlyacclaimed
imprint, Pampa Records. It reached #5 on the industry-leading, Hypem.com
overall chart the following week and consequently went on to hold chart positions on
Beatport, Decks.de and Juno.co.uk’s top charts for several months. It has accumulated
close to 2M plays on Spotify and Soundcloud combined to date. They’ve gone on
to release on the huge French fashion-meets-music brand “Kitsuné” and started their
very own brand new label “What’s That?” Ricoshëi’s music has since been featured on
the regular programming of globally recognized radio networks such as iHeartRadio’s
“The IndependentFM”, Los Angeles’ “KCRW”, Sirius Radio’s “XMU” Channel 35,
Toronto’s “CHRY 105.5FM” , Italy’s “RAI Radio2”, Ibiza-Sonica, Lebanon’s NRJ 99.1
FM, Germany’s Fritz Radio FM, Vienna’s FM4 and in the UK on BBC Radio6. German
music website, TRNDMUSIK awarded “Perfect Like You” their #1 song
of 2014 and SPIN MAGAZINE named them a TOP 5 ARTIST’S TO
WATCH IN 2014.
Throughout February and March 2015, Gibler & Cohen [Ricoshëi] performed a
series of sold-out shows across America during which they
supported Eric Prydz' "Pryda Generate Tour". The tour visited
major cities across 9 US states as well as Toronto & Montreal in Canada. “Exchange” in
Los Angeles, "New City Gas" in Montreal, Denver’s
“Beta”, “Verboten” in Brooklyn, NY, "The Mid" in Chicago and “Coda” in Toronto were
only some of the venues that hosted the tour during those 30 days. The one-month tour
