On Sunday 20th, the pub is hosting a free day and night party to celebrate one year of ‘And Also With You’, the monthly Soho Radio of electronic music producer, TYTHE.
The party will feature appearances from two of the very special guests from 2015 shows: a live performance from the beguiling Electronic Pop duo, Wyles & Simpson, and a rare DJ set from one of London’s most auspicious Electronic Soul producers of the year, Bearcubs.
Add to that a mix from Bestival’s resident good times DJs, the Sombrero Sound System, and soon enough, you’re buckling under a dangerous amount of good reasons to go out, out…
Wyles & Simpson LIVE [MTA Records]
This female duo has found a sublime partnership between the glacial electronics of multi-instrumentalist, Holly Simpson, and the mesmerising voice of singer, Abigail Wyles. With an acclaimed debut LP and performances at Dimensions festival, Meadows in the Mountains and David Byrne’s Meltdown festival (Southbank) under their belt in 2015, the chance to catch this special act in such an intimate venue will be an unforgettable moment.
Bearcubs DJ
In 2015, Jack Ritchie (AKA Bearcubs) turned heads with his two unexpected anthems, ‘Touch’ and ‘Paper Walls’, melding meticulous rhythms, fuzzy synths and melancholy harmonies to striking effect. Jack’s coming along for a rare stint on the decks and bringing some much-needed warmth to Camden Town, no doubt.
Sombrero Sound System DJs [Sunday Best / Bestival]
Duncan and Jonny Sombrero always bring about happiness through their music, a skill that has earned them coveted DJing residencies for Bestival and Sunday Best Records, and a show on London’s quickly growing Soho Radio. With their impeccable eclectic records and expertly timed party bangers, the Sombreros always make Sundays feel like Christmas.
TYTHE DJ [Soho Radio]
Known primarily for releasing hazy Electronic Pop on Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best label, Julian Peck (AKA TYTHE) has also spent 2015 building a monthly show of his own on Soho Radio station. He has so far played host to guests, Wyles & Simpson, Bearcubs, Mo Kolours, Boxed In, Merz and other eclectic artists, and his afternoon DJ set at the Lock Tavern will be a whistlestop tour of some of these musical highlights - and more from 2015...
