We all know Erol Alkan as a great communicator and sharer of music, but it's fair to say that the wait for the first solo material from the DJ, club promoter and Phantasy Label boss has been rather a long one. So why has he chosen the autumn of 2013 to release his debut EP? "It's getting to the point where even though there is a lot of great music around, I just felt like I needed to get my hands dirty" Erol says. "If it doesn't exist, create it."
Red Box is hosted by What Happens label head and Savoir Faire Musique co-owner Tim Andresen who is joined by two of Scandinavia's finest.
Nils Noa co-owns Troll Records and is arguably one of Norway's leading names in electronic music. His recent productions can be found on 303Lovers, Save Room and his own label. He has been running his own Monkey Business nights since he was old enough with guests like Paul Woolford, Yousef, James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli to name a few and he was the youngest artist to grace The Essential Mix turntables at the time. A steadily increasing schedule marked the end of Monkey Business but the beginning of an exciting stage that to date has seen Nils play in over 20 countries worldwide.
Charlotte Thorstvedt is also a Norwegian DJ and her DJing has brought her all over the world to clubs and festivals in places like Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Ibiza, Mexico, Rio and LA. In 2012 she released her debut album "Salomé". She is resident DJ at Oslo's respected underground house & techno venue The Villa as well as being a designer, a model and was MTV VJ for 3 years.
