The Pickle Factory welcomes two masters of the DJing craft on 4th March - French house don DJ Deep, and nu skool favourite DJ Spider.
DJ Deep has long been a favourite of ours at The Pickle Factory. The Deeply Rooted House founder has played in Bethnal Green twice before, setting Oval Space on fire on each occasion. A protégé of Laurent Garnier and resident of Rex Club’s infamous Legends party series, DJ Deep is now widely regarded as Paris’ most influential and perennially on-point house and techno selector. Although Deep is proudly a DJ first and foremost, his production career reads like a who’s who of French labels old and new: releasing on Basenotic, Distance and Straight Up Recordings, and collaborating with Jovonn, Julien Jabre and Roman Poncet.
He’s joined by New Yorker DJ Spider. Under various guises, DJ Spider has been producing, mixing and releasing tough, exquisite 4/4 music for some time, although he’s only made waves outside of his home city relatively recently. Since 2008, his Plan B Recordings has been behind a series of raw, intricate techno and house EPs from the likes of Amir Alexander and Hakim Murphy, while Spider’s own productions have also appeared on The Trilogy Tapes and Finale Sessions. As a DJ, he’s one of New York’s finest, specialising in a brand of no-nonsense analog techno that’s perfectly suited to The Pickle Factory’s d&b soundsystem.
