On the 8th December 2014, a London Air Ambulance doctor saved one of my best friend's lives performing a life-saving procedure on the Clerkenwell Road for only the second time in the world. She was hit by a turning tipper lorry whilst cycling to work. Tragically, she lost a leg and underwent surgery multiple times but survived thanks to the incredible support she got from the Air Ambulance on the roadside that day.
Despite the embarrassment of riches to be found in London, its Air Ambulance is a charity that largely relies on public donations to keep running. Until recently there was only one operational air ambulance, meaning during maintenance there was no back-up to stay in service. Having just added a second helicopter to their fleet, the LAA and their brave staff need our continuing support to stay up and running, so Londoners can get the rapid response that saved my friend Victoria’s life.
Astral Industries would like to make our little contribution by throwing a party in support of the LAA at Dance Tunnel (who have very kindly waived all costs - thank you!) on Saturday, March 26th, running till 5am. Being able to just concentrate on good vibes for a good cause, we’ve invited our friend Ahu over to play an extended set. He’s head of a new vinyl label called Shahr Farang that we’re really into, more on which we’ll share with you in the run-up to the event. Ahu will be joined on the night by Josh Hoppen, o.utlier and AI’s Ario.
£5/£7 advance tickets, more OTD. All DJs waiving their fees. All proceeds going to the London Air Ambulance.
