  • Songs for Children are delighted to present electronic musician and producer Andrew Hung’s first ever Hong Kong live performance! Press for ‘Rave Cave’ ''Hung’s littering of 8-bit grace notes is ultimately refreshing, and an apt ode to his work as one half of F Buttons…. the complexities and wide sonic scape don’t sound excessive or sloppily piled on top of one another. They’re seamless, intricate, and intoxicating. Then, the imperfect cadence fades and stutters into oblivion, leaving the listener aching for more. ‘’ Pitchfork 7.2 Andrew Hung with Benjamin John Power formed F Buttons ( when they met at art school in 2004. Hung was influenced by Aphex Twin and Power by Mogwai and together they created a unique sound using a variety of instruments including Casiotone keyboards and children's toys such as a Fisher Price karaoke machine. Their first album ‘Tarot Sport’ achieved rave reviews from Pitchfork, The NME, The Observer, The Times, Time Out, Mojo, Uncut, Kerrang, The Wire, Drowned in Sound and they quickly became the indie darlings of the music media and pioneers of the new up surge in DIY electronic ‘New Noise’ bands. ‘Surf Solar’ and ‘Olympians’ tracks featured in the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics. A new track recorded with legendary electronic musician Jean-Michel Jarre, "Immortals" was released on the Jarre album Electronica 1: The Time Machine on October 2015.The release of the second album ‘Slow Focus’ saw Hung step into production - a direction that he was keen to take. ‘Rave Cave’ EP his Hung’s first foray into solo work, and its concept is a much more paired down sound, its hope is for a space between the artist and the listener as Hung puts it: The tracks are inspired by places so with Hung’s with Hong Kong featuring in ‘Star Ferry Dub’. Hung’s solo work has seem him move into larger projects, he recently scored ‘The Greasy Strangler’ which premiered to rave reviews at Sundance Film Festival this year, ' a deliriously fun lo-fi score by Andrew Hung of Fuck Buttons’ Sundance Don’t miss the chance to witness one of the most exciting electronic artists around with sets from DJ Jane Blondel and a Game Boy inspired VJ set by Mike Mystery, thi is going to be an sonic and visual experience to kick start your Friday night !
