●LUMISOKEA[Opal Tapes]
Lumisokea is a Belgian-Italian duo, formed by Koenraad Ecker and Andrea Taeggi, both based
in Berlin.
Their music music can be described as being highly tactile, rich in texture and polyrhythmic,
blurring the lines between the acoustic and the electronic to create a challenging and
introspective listening experience.
Lumisokea’s influences range from dub to musique concrète, various percussion music traditions
from Asia & Africa, techno, noise and contemporary classical music, while remaining focused on
the key elements in their music : to induce trance-like states, to move bodies and to emphasize
the tactile qualities of sound.
In the past years, Lumisokea has toured extensively with an A/V performance, created in collaboration with Yannick Jacquet; a highly esteemed visual artist and founding members of the renowned AntiVJ
visual label.
They have performed at forward-looking festivals and venues such as Mutek (CA), Mutek Mexico, CTM Festival (DE), Heart of Noise Festival (AT), Pitch Festival (NL), Bozar Electronic Arts Festival (BE), Golden Pudel (DE), Rewire Festival (NL), Node Festival (IT), LEV Festival (ES), TUSK Festival (UK) and Phono Festival (DK).
Past releases include : “Automatons” (2011) and “Selva” (2012), both on the Dutch label Eat
Concrete. “Contrapasso” (dec 2013) and “Apophenia” (jan 2014) were released on Opal Tapes.
The most recent releases are “Eavesdropping on pianists”; an EP for Eat Concrete released in summer
2014 and “Mnemosyne”; a collection of nocturnal electro-acoustic pieces released on Luke Younger’s Alter label in september 2015.
Lumisokea released a new full-length on Opal Tapes on january 22nd 2016 entitled “Transmissions from Revarsavr” ; a reference to Arseny Avraamov, one of the visionary composers and theorists working in Russia during the early stages of the Soviet Union. On this full-length, Lumisokea will be delving deeper into the sound-world of Eavesdropping on Pianists, combining recordings of Vladimir Popov’s Noise Instruments with their fondness for electro-acoustic alchemy and traditional rhythm science from India and Korea. “Transmissions from Revarsavr” is a tribute to the pioneering spirit of the many visionary composers, theorists and inventors who worked in Russia during the first decades of the Soviet Union, many of whom have not received the recognition they deserve and were censored, silenced or struck down by the totalitarian regimes that followed the October Revolution. ●Chris SSG [MNML SSGS]
Chris SSG is best known as the co-founder of the now defunct MNML SSGS blog, recognized as a leading source of critical insight on electronic music. In recent years, he has moved from the online world into the Tokyo techno scene. As a DJ, Chris SSG eschews standard dancefloor music, instead focusing on a range of sounds from ambient, experimental, kosmische through to more abstract forms of techno. He has DJ’d at many major Tokyo clubs, including Unit, Air, Dommune, Galaxy, and SuperDeluxe, as well as at the FREEDOMMUNE and Rural festivals. His podcast for the New York based ‘Mysteries of the Deep’ series was included in Clubbing Spain’s top 10 mixes of 2014, and his podcast for Rob Booth’s ‘Electronic Exploration’ series was included in That Special Record’s ‘best of 2015’. Chris SSG commenced 2016 by playing in the Elektroakustischer Salon as part of Berghain’s Silvester party.

●Eexxppoann[Constant Value / Space Baghdad]
Eexxppoann is a new techno producer/dj based in Seoul. 'Eexxppoann' is the abbreviation for 'Exponential Expansion', which is the initial physical process of the big bang. As a director of the experimental techno party Constant Value, he aims to create techno sounds with structural and spatial experiments. This is also due to his other profession: apart from being a musician he works as an architect. His music and architecture simultaneously evolve structurally and aesthetically coinciding.
He recently released EP [Phenomenal Reality] from Absolute Records in Italy. It includes three experimental techno tracks including [Strato], [XSP MMXV I] and [Borderline XXI II].
●C-kay [Space Baghdad / Constant Value]
DJ / Producer based in Tokyo
As a member of Space Baghdad, C-Kay has been organizing the party “SPACE" and working as a resident DJ of it. This party invited Dadub(Stroboscopic Artefacts, Berlin) in 2015 and will invite Inner8(Holotone, Berlin) ,Lumisokea(Opal Tapes,UK) and UVB(Mord, Rotterdam) in 2016 as guests. She also has been organizing the party “常世の国” at Click, Tokyo, and invited artists including Koichi Shimizu, Eexxppoann,Kujo and Ametsub. Also she recently joined Constant Value as a resident DJ and will play dj sets regularly in Seoul.
