Adam Shelton (One Records)
One Records boss Adam Shelton is our next guest to join us behind the decks. With influences of house music from the late 80’s to date, Adam has curated a style and sound that has seen him release music on labels such as Visionquest, Illusion Recordings, in haus wax, 2020 Vision, his own label One Records, and of course, a stunning remix on the Senzala EP on MR KS’s newly up and running imprint, MR KS and Friends.
His own label however, though only starting up in 2009, has been a label that we have consistently been impressed with, with releases from highly sought after producers such as Dan Ghenacia, D’Julz, Shaun Reeves, The Martinez Brothers, Mathew Styles, John Dimas, Jack Wickham and more, leaving a serious mark on the world of house music.
Inspired by frequent trips to the likes of the mesmeric Robert Johnson, Adam’s sound has seen him grace the decks at some of the most influential clubs and parties around the world including Panorama Bar, Fabric, Exit Festival, Glastonbury, Space and DC10 in Ibiza, D-Edge, Cocoon and of course, his own truly legendary Below parties, founded in 2005. This summer he joins us on the back of OFF Sonar playing for Elrow, where we are sure he will bring some of that crazy carnival atmosphere to our new summer home, The Botanical Garden.
MR KS ( djebali ) /Tsuba/MR KS & Friends)
Taking us into the night is a man whose productions have been turning the heads of label bosses and party throwers across Europe steadily for the past few years. MR KS, first caught the ear of one of our previous guests, Djebali, who had this to say about his productions to the Independent newspaper: “Every time I was playing Mr KS' tracks, they were burning the clubs – so I had to release them and that's why I started this project”. With releases on ( djebali ), Tsuba and his own recent imprint, MR KS & Friends, Jean-Pierre is a DJ and producer making serious waves on the scene right now. His own vinyl-only imprint MR KS & Friends has been receiving massive support, with its debut EP from Senzala and Adam Shelton rising straight to number one in the Decks.de Vinyl Only charts.
His release on ( djebali ) surged to No.1 on Decks.de with days of its release, picking up plaudits from far and wide and sparking interest in the Frenchman from labels in the UK and across Europe. The deep, dancefloor-orientated cuts had done their work both in the clubs and in the charts – one of the singles even made it onto Mixmag's top 100 tunes of 2013 chart, quite an achievement for a debut release. Not to be forgotten is his stunning release on Music Is Love, with remixes from fellow Frenchman, Point G, and his groove-laced “Take A Trip”. This man is one to watch, if you haven’t been watching already…
His productions are standout, which goes without saying, but we have selected MR KS to take us into the night in 149 Warehouse because we know he delivers behind the decks too. Joining Carl Cox this summer for his final season at Space, MR KS is a fresh, exciting talent that we are excited to have with us, to take us deep, deep, into the evening on 19th August.
