We’re taking you back to circa ‘07 when we saw UK funky take over the dance scene with enough energy and enthusiasm to literally switch up the tempo. At the time it plateaued around the 138bpm mark and took on the darker sensibilities of dubstep and breakbeat garage. But things changed and we’ve got the key players in that movement lined-up for a special showcase this July.
Rinse FM bossman and producer of what is possibly the most recognisable funky track, ‘As I’ joins the billing with Tippa on the mic. Roska brings his unique, gritty take on the genre with funky house front man MA1 also in session alongside Crazy Cousinz, the masterminds behind ”Do You Mind", "Bongo Jam" and "The Funky Anthem”.
The voice of UK funky, Donae’o also steps up for a live performance of his classics - remember “Devil In a Blue Dress” and “Party Hard”?
