CONNEKT presents ANNA and XPANSUL
Next 24 June CONNEKT will present ANNA, Brazilian Dj from Barcelona at MAIN AIR in Lisbon, a delightful and exquisite party, also with XPANSUL, a Spanish Dj from Honduras and also MIGUEL TORGA and GLOVE from Lisbon, Portugal.

Brazil-born and Barcelona-based, ANNA is in high global demand – creating success out of everything she turns to whether producing originals for well-respected labels, remixing top-flight acts or moving dance floors the world over.
Recent releases on the likes of Tronic, Yoshitoshi, Terminal M plus a tech house signature etched on remixes for NERVO through Ultra Records and Gorgon City through Virgin EMI are cementing ANNA’s rightful place at the forefront of dance music and a credibility validated around the world after years of dedicated hard work and uncompromising dedication.
ANNA firmly believes that everyone has a purpose, and at the age of 14 she found her own calling; growing up behind the controls of her father’s popular nightclub in rural Brazil, absorbing the clubbing atmosphere and developing a strong connection to music.
Having not much of a reference point for underground music in her rural DJ booth, it took moving to Sao Paulo for ANNA to dive in to the electronic music scene - quickly joining a local booking agency and getting to grips with producing her own original tracks. Hard work often isn’t glamorous, especially in the face of financial difficulties and playing for free at a young age, but ANNA’s persistence and love for what she does began to pay off as she landed a huge residency at D-Edge, a global stronghold for quality music in Sao Paulo.
Early production support came in the form of Christian Smith and his renowned Tronic label, where ANNA is still a regular collaborator. After meeting Christian once he relocated to Brazil, “Behind The Groove” was a name establishing release in 2011, with highly acclaimed follow ups on Kraftek, Bla Bla, Witty Tunes and Toolroom Records reaffirming her deft studio talent.

Continuing with a relentless touring and production schedule, she is intent on exceeding expectations in all aspects of music. Performing to packed crowds in her home of Brazil, Greece, Hungary, France, South Africa, Germany and even China, ANNA expertly draws party goers in to a frenzy.
ANNA also graces the Beatport Top 10 sales charts on a staggeringly regular occurrence and has enjoyed heavy endorsements over the years from the who’s who of DJing including Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin and Damian Lazarus with regular airplay through BBC Radio 1.

- XPANSUL
Santiago Ferrer, also known as Xpansul, started playing records in Madrid back in 1993. Since then, he has played at most of the hottest clubs and festivals in the World. He’s been resident dj, amongst other clubs, of two pillars of the Spanish electronic scene: Soma Experimental Club, pioneer of underground techno sound in Madrid, where he became a professional dj and built he’s style and personality as a dj, and Coppelia 101, referential club of the first wave of XXI century techno.
Besides, he’s played at top clubs and festivals such as Fabric, Berghain, Tresor, Watergate , Rex, Fuse, La Real, Goa Roma, Moog, Club 4, Cocoliche, Goa Madrid, Bar Américas, Cassette, Sunjam… And a lot more gigs in cities all over Europe, from Portugal to Ukraine, and Latinamerica, from Santiago de Chile to Miami.
Xpansul’s sound as a dj is Techno, his sets are a journey through electronic music, in which the “axis” Detroit-Chicago-Berlin is the driver and all his other musical influences are the passengers. His playful and distinctive clockwork technique with the decks and mixer is well known and recognized.
Since 1998, Santi starts writing and producing music as well, getting a really good response from the crowd and critics to his first releases on labels such as Audiodrome, Options, Isoghi, Syl.Label or Soundplant, sometimes working solo and sometimes with his partner Daweed.
From then on his original productions and remixes have appeared in some of the top labels in the World, both solo and in collaboration with artists such as Alexi Delano, along who he’s released some of his greatest hits.
Plus 8, Soma Records, Ovum, Synewave, Truesoul, H-Prod, Harthouse, Analytic Trail, Perc Trax, Trapez, Apnea, Sleaze Records, Suara, CMYK, Regular, Esperanza, Immigrant, Leftroom, Minibus, Weave, Amazone Records……. These are just some of the many labels Xpansul has released in the last 15 years.
Since 2013, Xpansul has been involved in different record labels, like the now disappeared Discos De Lata and MSX Record and the still pumping True Type Tracks and w0rkt34m, where well established artists have released their music, but also newcomers taking their first steps to become big names years later.
From 2011, Xpansul is based in the Caribbean island of Utila, where he keeps producing, remixing and djing around the World, and he also organizes the True Type Nights parties and other electronic music events.
