Pettah Interchange is a celebration of alternative music, art and culture, that has taken place annually since 2012 in abandoned and neglected urban spaces in Colombo. Initiated by the Goethe-Institut and its electronic music web-platform Border Movement, the first edition of Pettah Interchange served as a showcase for material composed by musicians from Germany and the south Asian region during the an artist residency that took place in the outskirts of Colombo in July 2012. Over the last five years, Pettah Interchange has taken place within the walls of crumbling colonial buildings, grubby market-places and abandoned Cinema Halls.
