After the huge success of our last event in Brighton, Abstractions is back on home turf with a hybrid event of Techno and Drum & Bass.
This month's guest we are very happy to announce CASUAL VIOLENCE of Kareem's Zhark label based in Berlin who will be playing a Live set alongside the usual kru.
Hailing from Manchester, UK, Casual Violence is an electronic music composer, live artist, and DJ, operating on the dark, liminal fringes of Northern UK Techno. His work has seen him release on some of the underground scene’s most well-respected labels, such as: Rodz Konez, Subsist, Sect, and Unknown Precept.
Most recently, Casual Violence found a new home on Kareem's highly influential Berlin based imprint, 'Zhark Recordings' with the Anabiosis EP, which includes two tracks taken directly from his live set performance at Institut fuer Zukunft in Leipzig.
With a formidable reputation for his own deep, dark, and visceral strain of techno & rhythmic industrial, the Casual Violence live set is perhaps the closest representation of his sound so far. Characterised by its slow, pulsing, hypnotic builds, walls of texture, deep atmospheric drones, and an ever present suggestion that something a little more graceful in nature may be hidden beneath the surface.
