The ninth edition of roBOt festival will be taking place from the 5th to the 8th of October, located in Cassero LGBT center and, for the first time, in the ex Ospedale dei Bastardini, Bologna. Utilizing some of our previously used spaces, while using some that have never been used before. It reflects the direction taken by RBT09, which is a path that lies between certainties and unexplored territories. A new beginning that has been laid on familiar foundations.
WHAT COMES NEXT?
Quoting Einstein ‘Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results’. To restart, it was necessary to reconsider matters from a different angle – to question the whole apparatus, but without forgetting the foundations like – what brought us here, and how. Now RBT09 is indeed a new beginning, holding its core elements in its memories – passion in our search for quality, with our eyes and ears always wide open, always receptive to music as to art, and longing to impress and surprise each time. Always constructed only with material that’s available. For the 9th addition, the context has been changed, meaning – a change in location and dimension, not the text. We present it now to you with no proclaims or declarations, we let the music and art speak for themselves. Our goal remains the same, which is to reach a destination different from our point of departure, while making the journey enjoyable for you.
ex Ospedale degli Innocenti (also called Bastardini)
Since 1224 hosted orphans and bastards, then during the Napoleon decades the hospital was moved. Until now the building was destignate to various purposes, including the headquarters of Teatro La Soffitta and DAMS classrooms.
