We’re Back!
On March 11th 2017 Calypso returns for it’s third instalment, this time bring two headline acts. This time round we’re focusing more on the techno side of the underground music spectrum. Techno is notorious for being super serious But, that doesn’t mean we won’t be bring our usual super fun and whacky type of party agenda this time, with all the mad inflatables & tip tops you’ll need to have a brilliant night at the ivy house.

Anti -Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N. [Jumpstereo Records]
Anti-Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N. are brothers from the UK. Formed in 2011, they have been quickly gaining pace with their distinctive, groove-driven Techno sound having released on Bitten, Toolroom, Tronic, Deeperfect, 1605 Music Therapy, Natura Viva, Driving Forces, Pornographic, Yellow, Sabotage, Respekt and Funk’n Deep. The support for them has been huge over the years with their music being played by Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Umek, Sam Paganini, Jay Lumen, Stefano Noferini, Christian Varela, Stacey Pullen, Paco Osuna & many more.
Their productions have spent a total of over 500 days in the top 100 on Beatport including 2 top 10’s. They have hit the number 1 spot on Trackitdown 5 times and entered the top 10 on Traxsource multiple times. The launch of Anti-Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N.’s digital label, Jumpstereo Records, back in 2014 was a key part in their career. The label is growing at an extremely fast pace and gains constant support from some of the biggest and best DJ’s in the world which has helped push the duo further and further into the spotlight. Now with the launch of their vinyl label, Jumpmono Records, things are moving faster than ever. Across the 2 labels is huge roster of artists including Koen Groeneveld, Spektre, Alex Di Stefano, Raul Mezcolanza, Mr. Bizz, Etai Tarazi, Alberto Ruiz, Drumcomplex, Phunk Investigation, Spartaque, Paul Strive, Steve Mulder, D-Deck, Richie Santana, Ant Brook, Alen Milivojevic and many more. When it comes to DJing they are no strangers to the scene, having played all over Europe for some of the most well known brands in the world including Cocoon, Meganite and Global Gathering.

Daniel Brooks [Calypso / Lucky Life Music Ibiza]
Owner & Organiser of Calypso, Daniel recently played his first set abroad on non on there that the white isle of Ibiza! Playing for long time friends, Ben & Mike of Lucky Life Music & their monthly Friday night residency at Cafe Del Mar. if you know you've been to calypso before, you'll know what to expect from Dan., high energy dance music with all the groove you can get. this time. he'll obviously wont be playing is usual. For this techno special, he'll be stretching his legs with some of the more dark & electronic stuff he enjoys to ease you in and ready you for the night ahead.

Craig Gordon [Alice]
Craig Gordon returns to Calypso, this time solo. Having known Craig for a few years, and his passion for all things minimalist, he was the obvious choice for us to kick things off with a minimal tech set at the start of the night. Playing regularly at Alice with his brother Grant, i’m looking forward to seeing what he’s got in store for us!
