東京で3日間に渡り開催されるNew Assemblyのオープニング・コンサートは、2月17日金曜日にSuperDeluxeで行われます。この夜のメインを飾るのはAlessandoro Cortiniによるオーディオ・ヴィジュアル・パフォーマンス、「AVANTI」の日本初公開です。Berlin Atonal 2016にて世界初公開されたこのショーは、フェスティバルの中でも最も大きな感動を呼びました。Nine Inch Nailsのエレクトロニクス奏者として、また〈Hospital Records〉や〈Important Records〉からのソロ作品のリリースで知られるCortiniのこの演目は、Super 8フィルムで撮影された彼自身の家族の映像の記憶を音楽で辿るという内容です。彼の祖父の手によって記録された家族生活の断片をビジュアル的な主軸とし、過去へのメランコリーが彼の楽器を通して奏でられていきます。このプロジェクトは（Synthi AKSを使用した）シンプルな即興として始まり、記憶への瞑想を音で表現した作品へと昇華しました。もう一人はデンマークのノイズ作家で、現在のコンテンポラリー・インダストリアル及びノイズ音楽で最も刺激的な存在であるPuce Maryです。最近の〈Posh Isolation〉からのリリースにより突出した才能を発揮した彼女のライブは、一度見たら忘れられない、今日におけるダークで、時に美しいノイズの先導者としての個性を放つものです。大阪を拠点とするデュオSynth Sistersは日本でも最もディープでサイケデリックでコズミックなサウンドスケープを描き出すシンセ奏者です。昨年Chee Shimizu氏のレーベル〈17853〉からアルバム『Aube』を発表し、海外からも熱い注目を集めました。Crossbredとしても長年活動してきた彼女たちの、Synth Sisters名義での待望のライブは21世紀版のTangerine Dreamと呼ぶべきサウンドを東京で聴かせてくれることでしょう。
New Assembly begins its 3-day run in Tokyo with an opening concert at SuperDeluxe on Friday 17. February 2017. Headlining the event is the Japanese premiere of Alessandro Cortini’s audio-visual performance AVANTI. Premiering at Berlin Atonal 2016, AVANTI was the standout show of the festival. Cortini (electronics performer for Nine Inch Nails, with solo releases on Hospital Productions and Important Records) acquaints music with memory, embracing the panorama of his family’s vintage Super 8 films. These snapshots of family life, captured by his grandfather, create a visual basis for him to further develop the melancholy of remembrance as sung by his instruments. The project began as a simple improvisation (utlizing a Synthi AKS) and evolved into a meditation on living memory through sound. Joining him is Danish noisenik Puce Mary, one of the most exciting voices in contemporary industrial and noise music. Her standout recent releases on Posh Isolation as well as her impossible-to-forget live shows have firmly established her as today’s preeminent exponent of dark - and at times darkly beautiful - noise. The Osaka-based Synth Sisters are Japan’s foremost purveyors of deep, psychedelic and cosmic synthesiser soundscapes. Their 2016 full-length release Aube on Chee Shimizu’s 17853 label brought them into greater international attention. Experienced performers also as Crossbred for many years, their highly anticipated live show as Synth Sisters brings Tangerine Dream into 21st century Tokyo.
