Italian Labels Meeting was born from the need to support the many Italian labels and independent electronic music. Labels that work away from the logic of exploitation of music, a work motivated by a deep passion, regardless of genres.
It is for this reason that Upperground, music store on line (upperground.net) dedicated to electronic music and club-based in Fermo, decided to sustain these realities through a series of four events at the Heartz Club to define a moment of encounter, to promote the free access to musical culture and to give space and visibility to the dj sets and vinyl stores. The initiative has the purpose to encourage the purchase of music on vinyl, especially when it comes to small independent labels. Small labels may probably receive, through selling, more notable revenues compared to digital music. This helps the growth and promotion of the discographic and artists.
The last event is on the 21st of May, with the performance of two excellent protagonists . We talk about Sorry For This Records and Dancing Like Quagmire. The first comes from an idea of Low.e and CALMA, resident of the project Harmonized. This project is the core of the movement of the region Marche, which support the local music scene, national and international level, through high-quality programming in the Club of Porto Sant’Elpidio, and the festival FATFATFAT, held for its second edition on the 4-5-6 of August.
Simon Monti - Giacomo Albertini - Denis Vesprini came up with a concept of promoting new artists through the sale of vinyl records in a not reprintable limited edition (only 300 copies).
Through the large-scale distribution have been achieved great results that have allowed the label to receive important feedback in the world of club music. One of the most important record was the first release produced from ELIO (Sicilian Dj based in Bologna) which is now an integral part of the Dancing Like Quagmire project . Elio will be the guest console during the day together with Low.e and CALMA.
