지난 2016년 6월, 놀라운 테크노 라이브 셋으로 vurt.를 누구보다도 뜨겁게 달구었던 베를린의 테크노 듀오 Cassegrain이 이번에는 4시간 디제이 세트로 돌아옵니다. 전 세계를 무대로 테크노 라이브 열풍을 일으키고 있는 Cassegrain의 더욱 깊은 음악세계를 경험할 수 있는 특별한 밤, 2017년 3월 31일 22시부터 ANCIENT FUTURE - vurt.에서 시작됩니다.
Cassegrain (Arcing Seas / Berlin)
바로셀로나의 레드불 뮤직 아카데미를 통해 우연히 만나게 된 전자음악/테크노 듀오 Cassegrain 은 2013년 12인치 EP “Tiamat”을 비롯한 여러개의 완성도 높은 EP 앨범들을 독일의 Prologue 레이블에서 발표하면서 알려지기 시작했으며, Tin Man과의 콜라보레이션 작업들을 베를린의 Killekill, 그리고 Function이 운영하는 Infrastructure NY 레이블에서 발표해 왔다.
그들은 베를린의 Berghain부터 바르셀로나의 Sonar Festival 그리고 아시아 및 아메리카 투어를 통해 복잡한 하드웨어들로 구성되어 있는 테크노 Live 셋을 선보이며 세계적으로 큰 인기를 얻기 시작했다.
2014년 11월에는 Cassegrain의 데뷔앨범 “Centres of Distraction”이 Prologue 레이블을 통해 세장의 바이닐 세트로 발매되었으며, 2015년에는 Tinman과의 콜라보레이션 작업이 “Berghain07” 앨범 (Ostgut Ton)에 수록되었고, Infrastructure New York 레이블을 통해 “Window Window” EP가 발매되었다.
2016년, 듀오는 마침내 레이블 “Arcing Seas”를 만들었다. Cassegrain의 아나그램 (anagram : 단어의 구성 순서를 바꾸어 다른 단어를 만드는 놀이)으로 만들어진 Arcing Seas는 처음에는 듀오의 비밀스러운 다른 이름으로 시작되어 Circula Sound 레이블에서 몇개의 Arcing Seas EP를 발표하였다. 하지만 Berghain에서 이 이름으로 듀오가 등장한 이후 더이상 비밀이 지켜질 수 없게 되었고, 레이블을 시작하기로 결심하면서 Cassegrain과 Arcing Seas는 하나로 합쳐되게 되었다.

Cassegrain originated via a chance meeting at the Red Bull Music Academy in Barcelona. The Berlin based duo, now well established in the sphere of electronic music, found a home in Prologue Music after having several releases with the label including the highly acclaimed double 12″ “Tiamat”. Meanwhile, their ongoing collaboration with Tin Man has been released through Berlin based Killekill and more recently Function's Infrastructure New York (co-run by Inland).
The pair have become known for their intricate, hardware based live sets which they have performed worldwide, from several appearances at Berlin’s Berghain, Barcelona’s Sonar Festival and across Asia and the United States.
Cassegrain’s debut album “Centres of Distraction” was released on triple vinyl by Prologue in November 2014. Following this, their collaboration with Tin Man appeared on Ostgut Ton, as part of “Berghain 07” and a new home in the form of Infrastructure New York, Function's label, which he co-runs with Inland.
2016 saw the pair finally create a label, Arcing Seas. An anagram of Cassegrain, it started out as a secret alias, releasing a couple EPs on Our Circula Sound. The secret was less well kept after the duo appeared at Berghain under this name. After deciding to start a label, it finally made sense to bring the two together.
