  • Whilst the last few weeks have eroded at a glacial pace, there is now the contemplation of summer holidays to finally savour. For the lucky ones who have already booked their jaunts to Croatia this summer for The Garden Festival, or one of the other exciting weekends during The Garden Petrcane’s – and we think this is a world’s first - full festival season, there is much to look forwards to. That’s right – a season of festivals on the same intimate site. There’s a wee taster of summer fun with some aural beats and sonic treats emanating from Cargo on Friday May 1st. This being this first day of what is officially the start of summer is wholly apt for some outside Terrace action. So the Garden Festival and Free Fridays are presenting a shindig for the good folk of London, with five Garden guests making the trip to the East of the Capital as the countdown to the first weekend of July begins in earnest. Futureboogie’s Joe 90 and El Harvo make the trip over from Bristol along with Sonarcircle’s own deep house maestro Domu. Dissident Records’ Andy Blake and Chibuku’s sonic star Dom Chung complete the quintet. This free party is intended to be a get together for those who have made the trip before or first timers taking the plunge (into those warm, shimmering waters once they have arrived!) It’s the perfect way to kick start the weekend and to get a wee taster of the fun to come in just a few week’s time. This year’s attendees to that sun-kissed and blissed-out idyllic stretch of coastline on the Adriatic are in for a treat. Not least with two Garden Festivals from which to choose for the very first time – or both if it is so desired – but with the festival season itself featuring some tantalising weekends from Soundwave, Airbound, Likeminded, Electric Elephant, Disco 3000 and Exodus, Croatia might just be the place to be this summer. There are still flights from around the UK to Croatia and the surrounding countries and there’s still time to plan a beatific adventure which captures the imaginations of all who attend. But don’t hang around! See you at Cargo
