Rebirth Records is back in New York with an exclusive party at Tilt Bk, on Monday 27th March.
One of the most important independent electronic house labels, Rebirth Records, is celebrating its 10th Year Anniversary and its 100th release. The ‘Rebirth 10’ compilation, mixed and selected by the legendary Larry Heard aka Mr Fingers, has been a success and received a critical acclaim.
The label owner Shield will be joined by the label artists Corrado Bucci, and Sal P., known as the vocalist and percussionist of the seminal early 80’s band Liquid Liquid. Their experimental unique sound emerged from New York City's vibrant Downtown scene in 1981, a fusion of irresistible basslines, junkyard percussion and free-flowing lyrics. The group’s successes included club hits such as 'Cavern' (sampled by Grandmaster Flash in the making of 'White Lines'), 'Bellhead' and 'Optimo' in addition to sold-out concerts worldwide. Sal P. has also championed the turntables at venues in the U.S., Europe, South Africa and Brazil and is known for his blend of Afro-Latin, Rare Groove, and deep disco tracks. Sal P and Dennis Young (from the band) recently collaborated with Shield and Robytek for a new single, that is going to be released on Rebirth in May 2017 remixed by Paranoid London and Playgroup !
