José Luis Ordenes (1972) A.K.A. Umho is a DJ and electronic music producer from Chile. He defines his style as "Groove traveling". "There is a certain groove you carry on your body, yet there is a frequency that makes you travel to some distant planet or another place." His major influences come from salsa, cumbia, breakdance, disco and house.
Considered by many as one of the best DJs in the Chilean electronic scene, Umho began mixing 25 years ago. And since the last 15 towards this style of music when the first raves were produced in Chile and later on several festivals like Love Parade, Creamfields, Sundeck and many more.
He has always focused on the dance and the groove: "I look for colors inside music, I see the frequencies of red, yellow.... I want people to enjoy and have a good time through joyful music; my ultimate goal is to find happiness. " Joy and groove which in 2004 he began delivering through his residency at the legendary Club La Feria in Santiago de Chile, where he played along with important DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano and Richie Hawtin, among many others.
Umho is always trying to make the attendants of each party "forget everything and be amazed as children with music". All this unique energy took him in 2009 to consolidate his international career when playing in Europe in the best clubs of France, Italy and Spain. In 2015 he performed in Germany (New kids on acid at Watergate, UnDroid at Club der visionaere), Switzerland, Rex and Concrete in Paris, Cocorico, Amnesia and Privilege, just to name a few. He has also played for different clubs in South America during the last four years (Phonoteque, The Bow, The Edge) .
To play in so many interesting places around the world and share the stage with the most talented and important producers and Djs, is considered by Umho as a great prize for his career: "I'm in love with music.
