- 今年デビューEPをリリースしたベルリン拠点のAl KassianとHiroaki OBAによるライヴユニットOpal Sunnが出演。Albino Sound、Sekitova、Asyl Cahierら注目の国内勢が共演する。
“東京に集まる発展途上の才能、感覚、思想、文化が交わる遊び場”をテーマとする新プロジェクト“procope”が、6月2日にスタートアップのパーティーを開催。今回は、ベルリンを拠点とするAl KassianとHiroaki OBAによるライヴユニットのOpal Sunnをフィーチャー。多数のハードウェアを駆使し、即興性の高いセッションを土台に楽曲の分解・再構築を織り交ぜるライヴは本邦2度目の披露となる。2017年3月に新レーベル〈Planet Sundae〉からEP『Part I』を、そしてこの初夏には次作『Part II』がリリースとなる絶好のタイミングをお見逃しなく。
On June 2 we are going to launch "procope", a project to create a new party playground where the most promising talents, ideas and cultures in Tokyo have the opportunity to gather together.
This time we are going to feature Opal Sunn, a Berlin based live performance duo formed by Al Kassian and Hiroaki OBA. For their second appearance here in Japan, they are going to make use of a wide variety of hardware instruments to deconstruct and reassemble tunes and beats in a performance with a high degree of improvisation. In March 2017 their EP “Part 1” was released by Planet Sundae, and the release of their next work “Part 2” is planned for this summer. It’s the perfect timing and the perfect chance to get a taste of their talent.
As supporting artists we are going to feature Albino Sound, bringing us a fusion of bass music, techno-house beats and Bristol sound; SEKITOVA, who has previously performed at the Boiler Room being one of the most representative djs of the new generation; and asyl cahier, who has been gathering a lot attention due to his recent selection by “The Bunker NY” podcats and due to his future appearance at this year “rural”.
The sounds of the lounge will be crafted by Mars89, a regular member of the Bristol based independent radio NOODS RADIO, and andrew, an internationally active dj based in Tokyo affiliated with TREKKIE TRAX. Their thrilling music selection is going to lead us into a unique and exciting musicscape.
Opal Sunn (Planet Sundae / DE, JP)
Opal Sunn is a live-performance duo by Al Kassian & Hiroaki OBA. Formed in 2015, the pair have recorded countless hardware-driven improvisational sessions, puzzled together to create abstract musical journeys. The aim is to transcend the improvisational magic of the studio jam and funnel it into the live performance. Having played at Rainbow Disco Club 2016 in Japan and Atlas Electronic 2016 in Morocco, the pair took the audience by surprise with their heavily improvised live session. Their debut double EP is due for release in Spring 2017 on Planet Sundae Recordings.

ベルリン拠点のプロデューサー、Hiroaki OBAとAl KassianによるライブユニットOpal SunnのデビューダブルEPの1作目がロンドンの新興レーベルPlanet Sundaeからリリースする。
昨年、Al Kassianによるリリース"Diamonds on Jupiter"で注目を集めたロンドンを拠点とする新興レーベルPlanet Sundaeがレーベル第二作目として、ベルリンを拠点に活動するHiroaki OBAとAl KassianによるライブユニットOpal SunnのデビューEPをリリース。2015年から2016年にかけた制作された4曲を収録した今作はダブルEPの"Part 1"として2017年3月10日にリリースされ、続く"Part 2"も今季中のリリースが予定されている。Opal Sunnとしては初来日となった「RAINBOW DISCO CLUB 2016」でのパフォーマンスは各所から絶賛され、その後のヨーロッパでの存在感も着実に増している。
