Back at it again for some more biannual Good Placin’!
Continuing a theme of bringing over some of my favourite DJs—who incidentally for some reason have yet to play in Scotland, let alone Edinburgh—this time I'm buzzing to invite Baaz to the great place that is Sneaky Pete's!
For those who don't know, Baaz is a producer, DJ and label owner from Berlin, running the consistently superb and artistic Office Recordings. The label has released many of his own most notable records as well other beauts from Christopher Rau and Iron Curtis. Elsewhere, Baaz has quietly avoided the hype for the most part but continued to gain european deep house hero status through a number of standout, repress-demanding records on Slices of Life and Minuendo Recordings, to name a couple. This is all while playing out all over the place… except this place it seems, until now!
This night came together in about 3 emails (shouts to Ben at Orchid-AM!). Honestly it took about the length of time to order a Thai red curry and spring rolls from Silverbowl, so I think it's a sign this was meant to happen and that’s it’s gonna be piquant.
I don’t know Baaz (or Bastian) on any level personally like the previous guests but he is very enthusiastic about this and I’m told “I know your records through Move D”, which is encouraging! As ever, except a load of B2B action. Baaz takes things absolutely viperfish-deep, which is how things are done here. :-)
