Gasolio Dubplate Series (GDS) is a new label by Italian born, Berlin-based producer, DJ, sound designer and live performer Francesco Devincenti. Exploring the full spectrum of modern, dub-centred electronic music, from dub, reggae, drum and bass, and jungle, to dubstep, breakbeat and downtempo, the imprint will focus on super-limited edition dubplate releases, with additional digital versions.
Francesco''s significant experience in dubplate production is at the heart of GDS, which celebrates and updates the traditional dub sound by utilising modern technology and equipment, with the entire production process - composition, mixing, mastering and dubplate cutting - done by Francesco.
As well as releasing his own forward-thinking, propulsive productions, the label will feature collaborations with a number of exciting emerging talents and respected established artists, all of whom are connected to Francesco through music and friendship. Following a trajectory established by imprints such as Version, Rhythm & Sound, and Chain Reaction, GDS is an innovative new label that honours the rich history of dubplate production as well as presenting a clever approach to circumventing the current pressing production delays affecting the vinyl industry.
